Steelers' Bettis, LeBeau selected for Michigan Sports Hall of Fame

[IMGR]http://i51.tinypic.com/i35u01.jpg[/IMGR]Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis and defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau will enter the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame as part of a class of inductees that also includes former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr.

The eight-member class was announced Wednesday.

Bettis' career included a Steelers victory in Super Bowl XL in his hometown of Detroit. LeBeau will be recognized for his accomplishments as a player with the Lions.

Carr went 122-40 as Wolverines coach, winning a national championship in 1997.

The other inductees are Michigan State and New York Giants linebacker Carl Banks, current Michigan softball coach Carol Hutchins, distance runner Greg Meyer of Grand Rapids, softball star John Spring of Detroit and longtime Detroit St. Martin De Porres football coach Ron Thompson.
