For the misty-eyed nostalgists among you, I just watched a show on the DVR that had the main characters driving past a petrol station in Gallup NM and the price per gallon was 32c.

In the UK, petrol is around $8 per gallon this morning.

We probably dont even want to dig into this subject as it will start to violate the terms of this message board but us yanks are spoiled. We should be kissing Obamas *** for the fact we pay half the price of what they do most anywhere else in the world. We are in tough times and have even worse coming probably. Tighten the belt up!

I love to, except a 43 mile camel ride would be rough. In another few months however, I'll probably start pricing them

That's why you guys over there in the UK and Europe are smart enough to have an advance public transportation system and drive little sissy cars that "American Men" wouldnt dare be seen in... but will ***** about gas prices

I'm not even sure I could get to Pittsburgh from where I live with public transportation without having to get off and wait at multiple stops and the time in getting me to Pittsburgh being not worth it. I'm about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. If you hadn't lived here to know this stuff and I told you this, you'd probably laugh at me and then feel pitty for me. Maybe in reverse order if I were lucky enough.

Gas Prices though, they've been so high for so long, the shame is that people have gotten more used to these prices and have adjusted to accepting them even if they ignore the reality that they can't really afford them ... that is until I try to get someone to come up to my place and jam, then all of the sudden "gas is too **** high".

That's steep especially since the travel expenses for transporting the fuel/oil are far lower down there compared to what they are here. southern gas prices are usually always lower than northern ones

To be fair a good pub trans system doesnt work as well in a country so spread out like ours is. That said we had trains and stuff all over in the old days. They were all abandon because it was so cheap to own and run a car. Now that things are different why cant we look at trains again. I think it would be sweet if the bigger citties where connected by high speed rail. I get opportunities to go to cities all the time to dj but It ends up not happening because of the price of air fair. If I could get a train for half the price it wouldnt be a problem.

I can see $5+/gallon easy by the end of summer. Gonna really suck for for the 84 mile round trip to work. At least the 92 lumina (26,461 miles) I bought off my grandma gets 29 mpg.

... $3.89 a gallon here in the Cincy area now as of today.... It's making it alot more expensive for me to drive to Detroit (275 miles from my driveway to the employee parking lot) to start my work trips.....
