Default Where In the World is This Place & What Happened?

Our earlier travel thread had good responses.... So I thought this thread could open up many other opportunities ... "Where in the world is this place and what happened there?" It could be a challenge thread, for a special sports event, historical or otherwise that you can be posted first as a question.... and then, the answer in replies and/or more challenges... Here is my first.

This monument is in (clue NJ) and I lived one block away from it and had lunch often while sitting on the bench and looking over to NYC.

Perhaps, you have been there? Another clue is in this attachment historic event that took place there.

Do you know where and what happened? DO NOT CLICK TOO SOON....and don't respond if you didn't know at first.

The Harding Memorial is located at the intersection OH-423 and Vernon Heights Boulevard in Marion, Ohio (Marion Township, Marion County). The coordinates are 40 34' 22.91" N, 83 7' 21.6" W.

The Harding Memorial is the final resting place of President Warren G. Harding and his wife. President Harding died in 1923, and his wife died a few months later. They were buried in a temporary tomb in the Marion Cemetery until the memorial was completed. The memorial was designed by Henry Hornbostel and Eric Wood, and it is made of white Georgian Marble. The memorial is HUGE...it's over fifty feet tall and is about 103 feet in diameter. There are forty-six columns. It was very expensive to construct too, it cost $783,103! Groundbreaking was in 1926, and construction was completed about a year later, in 1927. The official dedication was on June 16, 1931 by President Herbert Hoover. It is a very beautiful memorial, and it is definitely worth visiting!

Sorry it took me so long to follow up here...
We have had so much snow lately but our local US Mail Man still works in shirt sleeves like this.

You're reviving some Threads that I';m not sure any of us were trying to remember Because of the snow/blizzard from last year that is.

I know NYC and the far east coast got wacked over the Christmas break but I really hope that major snowstorms miss us here in Pittsburgh this year. I cringe thinking of shoveling snow

Snow is ok. I hate ice everywhere. More slippery and alot harder to remove.
