Default Penguins vs. Bruins: Three Game Stars

    1rst Star: Marc-Andre Fleury
    2nd Star: Paul Martin
    3rd Star: Dennis Seidenberg

MAF had 29 saves on 31 shots to earn the W. It's not so unusual to see a goalie make a star after allowing 2 goals, but it's VERY unusual to see him earn the 1st star no matter how well he played.

Paul Martin played well. Didn't get any points, but was a +2, so maybe he does deserve to find his way onto the 3 stars list in a low scoring game that required OT.

Now for Dennis Seidenberg: He had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points with 1 shot on goal. He was a -1 and turned the puck over to Dustin Jeffrey for the game winning goal.

Dustin Jeffrey did not earn a game star. All he did was score two goals including the game winner in OT, after a great individual effort blowing by Boston players like the weren't evern there. What's even more unusual than a goalie allowing 2 goals getting the 1st star is a player scoring 2 goals, and NOT getting ANY star.

Who the **** in Boston makes these decisions? I usually don't give a **** who gets the 3 game stars. They mean absolutely nothing to me. A win is a win, and a loss is a loss, I don't really care who the media thinks contributed the most to the outcome. I usually don't even pay attention to the game stars unless it was an exceptionally exciting/unusual game, and I'm curious. I happened to hear this one, and I find it complete bull****. It really ****ed me off more than usual. Hell, even Jordan Staal had more points than all three stars combined! I find it very disrespectable.

Its not uncommon for home teams to screw around with the 3 stars when they lose...especially when there is a bitter history with the team that beat them. Its not worth worrying about, it happens all the time.
The only player in the NHL more overpaid than MAF is Jordan Staal

I saw this as well El Sid and thought it was a typo intially. Sure, a home team throwing in one of their players should be expected but who the hell you leave off Dustin Jeffrey after he scored 23 goals and the game winner is beyond me

I've definitely seen some homerism with the 3 stars (which is why I don't usually look into them too much,) but this was ridiculous (which is why it irritated me.)

I could see if it had been Matt Cooke, but why Dustin Jeffrey?

Yeah I'm not even sure it was homerism, just plain ignorance and stupidity. they gave 2 of the top stars to the Pens players which is fine and right but why the hell was Paul Martin there? Can anyone explain to me what Paul martin did that was so much better than the 2 goals and GWG that dustin Jeffrey had?
