Default Will the Steelers be the team to beat in the North this season ?

Do you guys feel we are the team to beat in the North this new season ? I know being last seasons Super Bowl contender places a benchmark type status to playing us but, will we be the better team ?

The only team I see having any muscle other than the Steelers are the Ravens......nothing new there.

I'm very curious to see what type of team we field after losing a Super Bowl. Our last time in this situation was a lot different in my opinion. We were without our starting quarterback for one thing.

I just hope injuries don't flub up our chance to get to and win another Super Bowl like the last one.
To me despite the interceptions, the fumble I think the injuries to Troy and McFadden took away the edge from our defense and allowed the Packers to win that game.

    Yes.

Still stinging from the SB loss, but I have little doubt that we are the AFCN top dog.

Thanks for the response SC. After posting this thread last night I also wonder how we will be favored as a top AFC team. I'm sure the Steelers, Cheats, Jets and Ravens will get their respect and I also wonder what teams this season will br the surprise teams.

Steelers and Ravens will be the only legit teams in the north. Probably pan out a lot like last years playoffs other than maybe SD taking over the Cheifs spot.

I believe that the Steelers will win the AFC North Division. The Ravens will be contenders but until they prove that they can handle the Steelers, WITH BEN UNDER CENTER, then I give the edge to the Steelers.

Watch out for the Chargers this season. They have a lot of players returning from injury. I expect them to be a regular season beast but in true Chargers fashion, they'll CHOKE in the playoffs.

Yeah, I hear you about the Chargers choking in regular fashion and I know we slammed them in the playoffs during our Super Bowl run but, I still fume over our loss to them in the 94 playoffs. You just never know how things will turnout.

I agree about the Ravens being the second best and now you have Flacco crying they get no respect. Flacco better get used to it .

Flacco's whinging has been quite amusing this off-season. "Waaaah! Wanna contract extension! Waah!"

I do wonder, though, how much players think about things like the Ravens' results against us with the caveat "with Ben under centre"?
