I say no, but even if they do, it may be the last time they see .500 this season. Being .500, 16 games into a 162 game season means nothing anyway. It's like being 1-1 in an NFL season. I've seen years where this team was 11-7 and 12-5 at one point and still finished WAY below .500 like they always do. Maybe they'll get lucky and the NL Central will stink this year, like it did back in 1997, giving them a chance to stay close for a while. Sorry to sound so pessimistic, but it's hard not to be about that organization. They lost 105 games last year and did very little to improve the team, IMO. I like Hurdle (Certainly a HUGE upgrade from Russell and one of the very few moves I've agreed with from them), and like what he brings to the team, but without players a manager can only do so much.

I don't see this team as another 105 game loser though. Position wise, we're miles ahead of the team that opened 2010. Walker, Tabata, Cutch and even Pedro should rest those concerns. The biggest hurdle faced is the pitching. While not many changes were made, as mentioned, simply getting better stuff out of Morton, Maholm, Ohly etc. will go a long way to also make us forget that 105 loss team. I'm not hawking kool-aid, but I honestly could see a 20-game improvement. That is a huge improvement.

POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

I had one or 3 hats that looked like that back in the late 80's/early 90's.

Yeah you can't really use the start of a season as a gauge for the rest of the season either way. A team can start off hot and completely collapse, a team can start off terribly (like the Red Sox) and end up finishing in 1st or 2nd place in the division.

This team isn't a 105 loss team. Last years team really wasn't either, they just had all of the bad hit them at once (every pitcher regressing, some regressing terribly, hitters not hitting up to past levels and decent expectations). There's far more potential on this team to be decent, balance wise.

We are sitting at .500 as of now.

It feels good! Can the Buccos take this next series?

    Maholm
    Morton
    McDonald

    We will miss Price.

Should Dan McCutchen get Ollies next start? Karstens has been a big asset at long relief.

Should Snyder and Doumit go 4 games to 3 each week?

Who gives Overbay a spell day? Does Walker ever get one?

Does Bowker get any starts? Jrod?

It's a long season. Is Jrod worth a trade?

It is very possible to go into Miami too jacked. Hurdle needs to try his best to get them to avoid that, and to not repeat the letdown from the first homestand.

I think Walker is the player least likely to get a day off.

They can;t trade JRoad 'cause he's a rule 5 pick, but it's looking more and more like it wouldbe better to have a veteran backup player for the IF.

Bowker needs to get a start.

I'm guessin they stick with Karstens in the rotation, or possibly call up Burres.

I meant trade for him, so they can send him down to get some playing time.

The Right Field platoon seems to be working out well.
