    Default PNC Park Lemonade guy...

    http://www.thisisgettingold.net/2011...onade-guy.html

This was just confirmed a few minutes ago.

    Sad news.
He was quite a character and made trips to the ballpark memorable.
I haven't been to PNC in a few years but still kept an ear out for him while watching games on tv.

There are two vendors that have always stood out to me at Pirates and Pens games. He was definitely one of them. Can't think of the other guy's name, but he's the guy that gets the crowd going during the games. Anyway, R.I.P. Kenny. You did your job with enthusiasm and you did it well buddy!

    A true Pittsburgh legend.

I just saw him last week. He was as animated as ever.

This sucks. I ALWAYS look for him at PNC Park and the Arena's and if possible I always tried to at least get cotton candy off the guy at the arena (never a desire for lemonade)

Paul Maholm tweeted about him saying that he always looked for him at the games and he was the hardest worker in the city. That's how recognizable he was when players remember him too!

There will be a moment of silence for him before tonight's game.

Nutting and the Pens released statements:
“Ken provided great service to our fans and was part of the fabric of a Penguins game at Mellon Arena or CONSOL Energy Center,” Morehouse said. “The history of Pittsburgh sports is unique because it includes not just great players and coaches, but also memorable vendors and ushers. Ken was part of that history. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family.”

Owner Bob Nutting released a statement on behalf of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

“We at the Pirates family are saddened by the passing of Kenny Geidel,” Nutting said. “Kenny, like all of our dedicated employees, is part of the fabric of the PNC Park experience.”

Nutting also discussed Geidel’s life outside of the ballpark.

“While all of us fans will always remember Kenny’s famous vending calls while roaming the stands as far back as Three Rivers Stadium in the mid ‘80s, he was also a dedicated family man,” Nutting said. “Kenny was a father of three and a grandfather of two. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.”

Remember him from 3R as "Cokeer"...his job got tougher when they moved and switched to Pepsi. Agree with all that nobody worked harder than Kenny did.

News of his passing found me here in Chicago before I read it on here...the guy's a legend, and will be missed.

Looks like T.C. is the only one we have left...

I got introduced to Kenny during Steelers games at 3 Rivers when he was the "BEER-ERE! BEER-ERE!" guy. Truly a sad day for Pittsburgh sports, and I mean that genuinely. Games will never be quite as fun without him.
