Default Jason Bay is gonna grab some pine

New York Mets outfielder Jason Bay, who is in the midst of an 0-for-23 slump, will sit for at least two games while trying to regroup, manager Terry Collins said.

Collins insisted Bay will not lose his starting job, and there was no benefit in asking Bay to go to the minors. Jason Pridie filled in at the position for Thursday's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Outside of remaining hot after we traded him and taking advantage of Boston's dimensions for the long ball the following season, the rest of his game has practically nose dived. His abi9lity to hit went downward in 2009.

He was what many of us said or thought he was despite the Bob Smizik's of the world thinking it means something to resign a jason Bay cause it shows we spend money... Bay was 30 when we traded him. He already had lost plenty of steps to the point where he was a complete range liability in LF at PNc Park and as rumors said, flat out refused a move by the Pirates to LF. Bay and McLouth together killed whatever contact pitching we had in 2008 with their **** poor range.

He was a good player in his time and in a way i'm happy he got that last big paycheck but keeping him would've made no sense. We can argue the return of the trade and all of that stuff but it was right to move him
