Default Balcony Garden '11... Any Container Gardening tips welcome!!!

In an effort to take advantage of my west-exposure balcony (and all of its' late afternoon/evening sun), I've expanded the "balcony garden" for a higher yield this year! From left to right:

Mint (for Mojitos and Tea), Sweet Basil, Hungarian Hot Pepps (x2), Cayenne Pepps (x2), and a "Patio" Tomato... The Pepps are individually planted in 3 gallon growers, to allow for root development, the Basil and Mint grow like ****ing weeds in anything, and the Tomato plant, I bought prestarted from a local greenhouse so to maximize my yield given the short growing season in NEOH. Feeding weekly with a basic all-pourpose fertilizer by Vigaro (a bit cheaper than Miracle Grow, but same formula):

If there's any members that have had a higher than average yield, in terms of container gardening, I'm open to any tips/suggestions...

.... Have you tried the "upside-down hanging tomato" pot?..... I personally haven't done it, but my sister swears by them.....

Never tried them, but I have seen them... The problem is that my second floor APT has 10' ceilings, and I dont own a ladder, so daily watering would be a chore to say the least. The 'mater plant is really an after-thought as Peppers are my passion! However, that little patio 'mater plant already has a couple ready to be picked in the next day or two and about a dozen more growing on the vine!

I don't know if those tomatoes would get enough sun to produce if they're getting late afternoon/evening sun.

Deer shouldn't **** with them though.

Just water twice a day in the heat. The upside downers work well............No staking, caging. I have even planted stuff like basil to grow out the top.
