    Default ****ing mosquitos

One thing about the NH climate, it's good for bugs.

Black fly season. PA has a black fly eradication program, NH does not. It's ****ing brutal. And the mosquitos - billions of them, I've never had so many bug bites in such a short span of time. My kid looks like he has the measles. You can't stand outside for more than a minute and they're crawling up your pants leg.

I'm generally pretty tolerant of bugs, but this is bordering impossible.

I am not tolerant at all but I haven't been bothered much lately. Even the stink bugs have not been bad at my house this year. I can't remember the last mosquito bight I got. It will be interesting to see though because I always though they left me along because I smoked but since I no longer smoke maybe I will be ****ed again.

LoL!..... Bug bites get me as well... Hell, I go down to the beach, and if the wind is calm, I get eaten alive.....

.... Wierd **** is it's only on the legs below the waste.... I finally started using that 98% deet stuff but it still sucks.....

Good luck up there. I hear that the summer-to-fall season is the worst......

Haven't been to the beach yet, we're going at the end of August. Yeah, we'll get bug bites down there.

These mosquito bites are different than the ones we'd get in PA. They harden up like callouses.

****ing bugs - my wife just bought 3 cans of Off.

Put up some bat roosts. I hear the bats are taking a beating from diseases, right now, and if they stay away from the big resting places (caves), that they could have a better chance of survival.

In 1978, bought a house in the hills, thinking of low traffic (not) and peaceful living. They mosquitos were so bad, that first year, that we had to run to the car , in the middle of the day. It got better in the following years, despite a stream that was 30' from the back door.

We are still battling stink bugs here, but not too many bug bites.............Good luck!

Bat roosts? Then I'll have to release some falcons to take care of the bats.

I went fishing for an hour this afternoon, took the kid. We got mauled by mosquitos. I might have to get a summer home in Iceland.

A few mosquitos here in north central Cali but really not too bad. Other bugs are not a problem. Might have to do with all the crop dusting they do here, as this is a major agricultural area. Also fairly dry climate, but sunny and hot a lot.

Allimax, they extract it from garlic, is a supplement that is good for you and repels mosquitoes without giving you garlic breath.

Bats are no threat to you, unless you throw up small pebbles, in the evening, when they are hunting skeeters. Bats are a much needed animal in the world.

Read "Crisis in the Caves" in this month's Smithsonian magazine. Then use the magazine for a skeeter swatter.

Funny you mention bats. I took a picture of this little guy with my phone a few years ago at my old apartment hanging from my patio screen door. Some bats moved into the attic of that apartment building and by law they had to let them leave on their own. So, for a good while, you'd see a bat here and there hanging around outside the building. Imagine my surprise when I saw a furball hanging from my screen door when I opened it. lol

Just what I want, a laser beam gadget for the back yard.

I can't get the ****ing light over the driveway to work and I'm going to hook up a device that shoots laser beams.

I can see the letter from my homeowners insurance company now.
