It's nearing 100 degrees. I know it's going no lower than 75 tonight. We have central but aren't using it this year to save money. **** the money. Turn that **** on, I am dying here.

It's almost always hot here in north central CA, 100 most days but low 70s at night. Why palm trees grow all over here.

The heat index is dumb. The news is always looking for a way to dramatize everything. It's hot we get it but turning a day that is low 90s into a 100+ day is retarded. They do it in the winter too with the wimp chill factor.

You're way off... It is actually very relevant... The higher dew points have a very intense effect on folks with any sort of respitory problems and can be quite dangerous. You can go outside when it's 90 degrees and low humidity and it feels fine, but with dewpoints above 70, the heat index makes it feel like you hit a brick wall, and some folks have issues breathing.... Same with the wind chill... It can cause things like frostbite to occur at a warmer ambient temp if it's blowing hard.

Already 90 degrees out this morning. We don't have it near as bad as the cities to the east of us. Baltimore is already at 100 this morning. Sauna weather.

So a heat index of 110 = actual 110 with low humidity? How does that work? I think it's BS. If it's hard to breath it's hard to breath illustrated by the humidity and temperature. I just don't think we need to change the scale here.

Not really, because there is always humidity to some level... Basically, how does your body cool itself? (without drinking beer, LoL!)... When you sweat, it evaporates and removes the heat. When it's extremely humid, the evaporation rate is reduced because of the ambient moisture already in the air, and the heat is retained, making it "feel hotter". ... It's really not BS... It even effects the performance of aircraft... In an extremely hot humid air mass, the performance is reduced... And we even have completely different performance charts for the extremes of both hot and cold.

... Science/meteorology lesson over... I need a beer because I'm sweating like a pig in this humidity...

Just talked to Mrs. Geo. She works in Frederick, MD and told me that it's 106 there (not sure if that's with the heat index or not).

Regardless, that's pretty friggin' warm out. Might have to wait until this evening when it gets back down into double digits to brew that wheat ale. If I don't grill in single digit temperatures, I'm sure as hell not brewing (over an hour long boil) in triple digit temperatures.

Then again, I probably will brew when I get home. The only reason I didn't grill in single digit temps was Mrs. Geo put a stop to that.

That's probably the actual temperature there because it was at 100 in that area at 11AM. Their heat index is probably 115 or 120 with this humidity. Butler is at 99 right now and Pit at 95. It's hella hot everywhere!
