    Default If No Trades...

ok...so if we don't acquire the bat we need via the trade route (I'm not opposed to standing pat if the prices are too high), then it's time BN put his money where his mouth was...i.e. - when we get close the payroll will expand.

who on this list fits the combo of available and possible to talk into heading the burgh-way?

Definitely an upgrade with Cuddyer. He is one of 4 on my deadline wish list.

I'd take them all and hope we could score more than two runs per game.

Of coruse, we would haev to get a "roster expansion" allowance.

Not sure about Sizemore. In the last two years, he's had microfracture surgery on both his legs. If we can bring him in and have our medical staff give him a clean bill of health, then I'm for it. Problem is, I think he's a centerfielder. Would he be willing to move the RF or LF?

right field would probably be easier on him, so i would guess that yes he would move.

The best option is trades...if we could get Pena+Upton I would be ok with not picking up anyone in FA. Adding 40+ hrs and another 20 sb would be a big upgrade

I'd be thrilled to get Upton,a guy the Pirates should have drafted in the first place.

Upton is another one on my deadline wish list. Him and Cutch could be this era's Bonds and Bonilla, not as much power, but the overall production would be potent. In the field, gap shots would be almost non-existent. Trade for Upton and Chris Davis and I would be happy.

Here's what upton has done the past 3 seasons

I said it in another post, BJ Upton has played like a player for far too long that we'd be trying to get rid or replace

I'd welcome Upton with open arms. His 16 Hrs. and 23 steals would lead the Bucs and his 54 RBI's would rank third.
