I agree... Both that it's a good signing and that it's gonna be an interesting thread...

... I'll go on the record that I don't think Colon is the next creation of "sliced bread", but he's a needed component for the "experience factor" if nothing else...

I am going to sign on with you I don't want anyone getting the idea that this is my favorite player or anything I am just concerned about the personel we are working with. I also thought he was getting better before the injury. And Max is no longer stealing from the team. He may be back but if he makes it through camp they will work out something far more manageable. Put it this way Id rather them pay Colon than Starks.

Honestly I don't know what that means but Colon is way better than Starks ever was. I am glad he is off the payroll.

... 'Ya gotta have some sort of experience there, especially when 1 or 2 go down with an injury during the season. I just can't see leaving it to unproven personnel that has either not played in the NFL or hasn't played well enough to start... If you recall the debacle a few years ago with the "revolving line" that we had due to injuries, then insert inexperience, it would create disaster IMO.

... Besides... You need someone to ***** about, as do I since my punching bag called Ray Horton is gone...

Heheh I wonder who the whipping boy will be? I am going to give Mendy a hard time this year. Not like he has been terrible but he was a #1 pick. I think an undrafted healthy body could get 1000 yards in this system. I need to see more.

    ****KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

How in the world can any of you think that this is a good signing?

Willie Colon SUCKS. Anyone that thinks it is a good decision to keep Willie Colon then I don't want to hear a single one that supports this move this entire season ***** about either Willie Gay or Bryant McFadden. That would be a doublestandard

    Why?

Because like Gay and McFadden who both stink and should not be starting for the Steelers in order for us to get #7, Willie Colon is exactly the same.

Colon sucks in so many ways it's not funny. He's a penalty machine that kills drives and adds 10 yards per drive. The guy is constantly offsides because he needs as much of a jump as possible to prevent getting beaten like a rag doll. Beaten like a ragdoll because his feet are so slow, Flozell looked like Flo-Jo in comparison, his arms too short to extend out to push speed rushers further outside or get them before they beat hsi slow *** inside.

The guy is absolutely terrible as a Tackle. Terrible. The 3rd best thing that happened to the OL last year after Sean Kugler and Maurkice Paouncey's arrivals was Willie Colon getting injured. Only then did we finally get respectable tackle blocking and protection for Ben.

I mean come the **** on, instead of resigning Flozell for 1 season, until Gilbert is ready for $5 million per or less, we went out and gave Willie Colon one of the WORST contracts I have seen as a Steelers fan. Are you ****ing kidding me. In what universe is Willie Colon worth an average of $5.9 million, most likely what his cap hit will be? How can anyone sit back and say "great signing" when are pressed for money under the cap and we go and sign this steaming pile of **** for money than even Flozell Adams who was far superior last year to anything Colon has ever done. This isn't going to be a contract you just get rid of or give a player who is going to "compete" for a position, this is a guy that they just handed a starting job to.

    So heere's what happens.

    1. Colon is the starting RT. Which has to suck some major balls for Ben.
    2. Colon is shifted to RG instead because everyone else we have is better than him at Tackle and it forces someone like Doug Legursky to the bench. Doug Legursky who actually DESERVES a starting interior line job after the way he stepped in for Pouncey in the AFCCG and Superbowl and did an admirable job despite all of the talking heads thinking that Raji would own him. That never happened.

Man am I ****ing ****ed. Not so much at the resigning of Willie Colon, since I would've accepted him on a dirt contract he EARNED AND DESERVED in a competition and backup role but because some dildo in the organization somehow decided that Willie Colon was worth $5.8 million dollars and Flozell Adams isn't worth $5 or Max Starks restructuring Max Starks' contract to bring the hit from $6.5 million down to at least Colon levels. Max Starks is twice as good.

Actually, Legursky WILL beat him for a starting job and they'll be paying him big bucks to ride the bench.
