Bat Pedro 6th I'm thinking. Ludwick has been either a #4 or #5 hitter his entire career. Granted you could swap lee and Ludwick and Pedro and Ludwick.

Everything else looks good to me

    I like WFL's lineup.

I don't like Cutch in leadoff and I like Pedro to have a batter of protection behind him.

I'm with ya Cutch has only 20 or so more AB's batting 3rd than batting 1st but is hitting .313 for the #3 spot compared to a low .252 as a leadoff hitter. OPS and OBP is higher as well.

I agree... Wood is hitting .185 from the 6 spot with zero power and for his MLB career is mostly a 7/8 hitter. Wood isn't part of the future nor much of an upgrade over Pedro. I'd keep him riding the pine as well. With some protection, and not facing the league's #1 and #3 pitching staffs, Pedro should be able to hopefully bumped his stats up

I was also trying to go righty, lefty, righty there in the middle.

Thats what I had figured and sort of settled for an end "you could swap this and this guy out and it make much of a difference"

It'll be nice for Hurdle to have this option and it'll be nice to see Mccutchen planted back at #3 spot and Walker back at #2. Walker and Cutch hitting 4 and 5 was killing their numbers

Wood has 5 HRs in 167 ABs this seasons. That's not "zero power." He also has a strong minor league history of hitting for power. Pigeonholing him at #6 was not the point. Replacing Pedro with Wood was the point and that is where the disagreement his. I would not bat him after McKenry and/or Cedeno.

DK said on Twitter that Jones is 5 for 12 with 2 homers against Z.

I guess I can live with that for tonight.

I just hope that their 'normal' lineup includes Paul leading off in RF instead of Cutch.

I'd still rather see Pedro have lineup protection. Oh well.

As would I. I expect this is a work in progress, and Hurdle will tinker with it quite a bit until he comes up with a combo that he feels comfortable with.

This team is in desperate for need for Tabata/Presley at the top of the order. It will be a good line up when Walker falls in the batting order. Walker should bat 6th. With the new personnel, that may not work out though. Walker is wasted at the top of the order. On a better team, he would bat 6th or 7th and be highly thought of.

"The manager said McCutchen will be hitting primarily leadoff for about two weeks, when either Alex Presley or Jose Tabata is expected to return. McCutchen may then slide to the No. 2 hole, especially against right-handers, to balance the lineup.

"When (Presley) comes back, he's going to be there at the beginning of the order and I will probably be right behind him," McCutchen said. "(We) are not trying to make it easy on the opposing team from the beginning. Any way I can help starting back at the top of the order, I am looking forward to doing that."

Batting leadoff should make McCutchen more aggressive on the bases. While batting mainly third or fourth, he has one stolen base in two attempts in his past 30 games dating to June 26."
