    Default HAIL PITT!!!

Game got closer than it should have in the 4th, but that's still a big win.

Agreed.... Had to surf a few different radio stations for the 4th qtr on the way home from Indy, but it was a good outing!

... I think Charlie is on his way out the door for sure in South Bend.

Yeah, I was on the road heading home but caught the whole game. I was lucky enough to pick up a pre-game show - I'm guessing it was from Indiana somewhere because the announcers were clearly ND supporters and they were suggesting that the Irish MUST WIN this game.

Weiss might get canned sooner or later, but he's not going to go hungry - that's for **** sure.

I was starting to worry even before the punt return TD, as this seems to be the kind of loss that has defined the Wannstedt era. Right when you think something's going right they manage to pull off some inexplicable loss. Hopefully hanging on in this one gets that game out of their system for the year (although they already had one earlier in the season). The game vs. Cincy at Heinz should be awesome, assuming they don't blow it against WVU.

Aaron Berry going out was what helped keep it close. They went right after his replacements. Antuan Reed got torched, and missed the 1st tackle attempt on Golden Tate's return.

On top of Berry going down, they also lost his replacement in Ricky Gary.

By the fourth quarter, we were playing with one experienced DB. Up until Berry went down, we held them to three points through three quarters. For a Notre Dame team that normally averages 30 points per game, that's not bad at all.

I think we can get by WVU without Berry because WVU doesn't pass the ball all that much, but I think we will definately need him if we plan on beating a pass happy Cincinnati team. Last I heard, Berry is "day-to-day".

That would be awesome if Pitt wins out and are Big East Champs and then wins their Bowl Game.
Wanny is doing a hell of a job recruiting and turning Pitt back into a big time program.

Yes it would... But as said, it's "tough sledding" to get there.... The Backyard Brawl is just that, and anything can happen... The UC game is gonna be a helluva barnburner....

I hope the UC game is a national game. That could be one of the best games of the year.

I can't see why it wouldn't be especially if Pitt can win the backyard brawl. Then you'd have two top 10 teams playing for the Big East Title. Even if Pitt loses to WVU you'd still have two top 20 teams playing for it. At worst, this game will be on ESPN. Both top 10 and it'll be on ABC. Imagine what it will be like around here for that game! Heinz Field will be rockin like it's a Steeler game! Good to see for this program!

A big win is beating an unranked team on your home field?

    The pot = stirred.
