    Default Miguel Sano Part 6

Just got back from an Appy League game between the Kingsport Mets and Elizabethtown Twins.

Maybe he had a bad night but I am glad the Pirates did not blow $3.5 Million on Miguel Sano.

That's good to hear although I ain't wishing him ill will, just his agent and the Twins GM for backdoor dealings.

Dude was atrocious in the field and could not hit a breaking pitch to save his life.

yeah, and we should have drafted Weiters, Upton, and Pujols too. Maybe we can sign Darvish when he gets posted. It will probably only cost about 60 mill to win the right to negotiate with him. While we're at it, maybe we can sign Prince Fielder this off season and sign Tim Lincecum when he becomes a free agent.

I'm thinking you just saw Sano on a bad day, but I haven't seen him yet personally. Your reports on his fielding aren't surprising at all, as I think the consensus now is that he's going to end up a corner outfielder. SS was always a pipe dream, but now everyone seems to think 3B isn't even that realistic. At the plate reviews have been mostly positive from what I've seen.

In most systems Sano probably plays full season ball this year as an 18 year old, but the Twins are always (or at least in the recent past) very conservative and slow moving with younger prospects, particularly the Latin kids.

granted he can't field (I, too heard the LF-1b comments), but the dude has a .924 OPS.

I'd still take him, but we did what we could. If, like a lot of life, we could do it all over again, we would do it differently.

    C'est le vie.

What about that guy in Philly? I think his nickname is Doc. I heard Philly is shopping him.

Doing it all over again probably wouldn't have made any difference. Sano's GM wasn't interested in negotiating with the Pirates despite Sano and his family's wishes for him to be a Pirates. From the getgo, it was about Sano's GM hooking up his close from with the Twins.

You can't beat the buddy system.

It was never about money or Sano's agent would've allowed the Pirates to counter the Twins GM's offer

Just for the record, Sano has homered 8 times in his last 16 games and leads the Appy League with 14.
