    Default Jeff Reed!!!!

Last week, I saw a PSU kicker take out a speedy Ohio State return man with a devastaating line drive hit.

Today, just as he did a few weeks ago, I saw Jeff reed "whiff" and not even leave his feet, let alone dive at Scott's ankles, which might have caused the Cincy KR to stumble if not go down

The kickoff returns against our ST are not all Reed's fault, but I expect a lot more effort from a kicker, in trying to make a tackle, than I've seen from Reed.

He should not make the squad next year, replaced by a kicker who can consistently reach the end zone and someone not reluctant to stick in his nose to try and make a tackle and save a score.

... I say draft the Pitt kicker.... He's used to playing in Heinz Feild and does so several games every year.... Something to think about come April.

Jeff Reed is most likely not getting resigned, so you dont have to worry. We do have to perhaps worry about a new kicker kicking in Pittsburgh. We know that reed can be depended on to kick in Pittsburgh, if the next guy can't do it, that's going to hurt us a lot more than anyone here realizes

that's a great point. I know nothing about the guy however. Is he even worthy?

Seriously... it's embarassing! Just kick the ball and get the **** off the field. That way the rest of the team knows there is no one back!

Even Matt Barr, Roy Gerela and Gary Anderson, think that was weak. At least they would try to trip the guy!

Reed gives kickers a bad reputation for being a bigger ***** than their overall reputation would suggest.

I agree with Kipper, Reed should have signed that extension when he had a chance. His stock has dropped on a number of different levels.

He's still a solid kicker, but Beezy has a great point. It would be nice to have someone who can kick the ball into the endzone every now and then.

Reed puts zero effort into tackling a guy on long returns, but kickers shouldn't be in that position in the first place. One thing to consider is that any new kicker is going to be behind the 8-ball in Heinz Field right out of the gate.

    Terrible attempt at a tackle.

I'm not sure I'd even refer to it as an "attempt"

Exactly. If you need to reply on your kicker to make a tackle to save a TD, you're generally really ****ed. They don't really practice tackling drills and things like that. While, Reed can't tackle worth a ****, that's not even a real problem. the real problem is the fact that returners are getting to Jeff Reed this often this season.

I think Hutchins has kicked well at Heinze and would do so as a Steeler.
