I was looking forward to getting a draft pick for someone who is going to be a FA next season.

Oh well, hopefully Leftwich can return next season.

At least the other injuries (per MT presser) dont seem to be that serious...

Honestly I didn't see them getting a trade for our guy. If it was Batch, he might decide to retire at that point. Dixon... The way it is this year I think teams will just wait for the cuts. The Steelers can't afford to keep a 4th QB past the deadline. Anyway it's moot.

What type of injury does he have? Broken arm, dislocated elbow? All I heard was it was severe and went immediately to the hospital.

    Fellas,

I'm sorry but as a QB you need to be a little more judicious especially in the preseason. One year Batch goes down after scrambling (dislocated shoulder was it)...then last year leftwhich goes down and we need to keep batch.

Today during my fantasy football draft I thought about how the steeler would keep batch around (per NKY and someone else's thread yesterday or thurs) and now we have Lefty bashing through for IMO a stupid extra yard when he could have slid and been safe but he did not and look what it gets him. Thank goodness we have CBatch. If I'm Tomlin I am not playing batch too much next week cause I don't want Charlie to get hurt..goodnessl

    Les yeah, that's the game.

Steelreign, he broke his humurus in his non throwing arm. Yeah I went there with a dumb joke but that is one of the thickest bones on your body it will take ages to heal.

That's a bad break for the offense, no pun intended. I really liked what I saw from Lefty against the Eagles, he looked in real good shape and moved around pretty well compared to what he has looked like in the past.

It seems that Leftwich is constantly hurt, especially for how little he actually plays. It's time we go search for a quality back-up. Batch is good, but long in the tooth. I'd like to see him become a QB coach. Dixon doesn't necessarily hurt us, but 1 is not enough in this league. If we don't pick someone up this year or even in the off-season, next draft it is one of the priorities IMHO.

JFC it's a broken ****in bone. You don't have a precondition to break bones. It's some freak ****. Now the same thing happened to batch a couple years ago. Backup QB scrambling in preseason... Whyyyy?

I feel bad for Lefty, and I wish him well. But next season we need to totally blow up and rethink are backup QB situation. Both Leftwich and Batch are EXTREMELY fragile. They have proven this time and time again. Leftwich was fragile in JAX too. Its not his fault, but it is what it is. Batch is also not durable enough to be dependent on. He may get you through a game if needed, but any extended period of time and history shows he will get hurt.

And the third guy we have sucks. Im sorry but what progress has Dixon really made?? Im tired of hearing how young he is. How long does the guy need to be here before we can expect him to progress? Bottomline is Dixon is a poor mans Kordell Stewart who is eating up a roster spot. If Dixon does need to play this year the first thing you will hear from Tomlin is how they are dumbing down the offense to suit Dixon. If he cant run the offense at this point, why is he here?

My wish list for next season includes...... #1 draft a new young QB to mentor in the mid to late rounds........ #2 Sign a veteran backup in the offseason who is 32 years old or younger and has a history of good health. Then cut ties with our three backups.

Hey Dixon is better than St Pierre. I am confident Dixon could fill in here and there. If we need more out of him or anyone other than Ben then we are in trouble. All the top teams are in the same boat.
