Default Tomlin not thrilled with Logan

He's debating on keeping Wallace back there.

On top of Logan's lack of production on the field, Tomlin was not happy with Logan's post-game remarks when he decided to criticize his teammates for not opening up lanes for him.

    Tomlin's response...

"For someone who hasn't returned a kickoff for a TD, he shouldn't be saying things like that.". He left it at that.

'Nuff said... I think we may see Wallace next week.

Not good Steph, good returners create their own lanes when necessary.

I took Tomlin's quote out of context and Logan's remarks came prior to the Denver game. My bad.

Logan's remarks prior to the Denver game: "On all the kickoff returns I have seen go for TD's, somebody has left a lane. Whereas, when I have been returning kicks, we never seem to see anyone who leaves a lane against us.".

Tomlin's actual quote today: "That's the perspective of a kick returner who hasn't run one back yet. So that perspective may not be reality.".

Its like having Davenport back there again !!

Lets see how fast I can run straight ahead--- the guy (Logan) never seems to take a step left or right !

    Lets see...sorry Tomlin...you lose.

Why? Well our special teams coverage and block both blow so badly that the love-child of Joshua Cribbs and Devin Hester couldn't make anything happen.

Change the dynamic of the whole unit and see what happens.

I don't want Wallace back there *whine*. Put Moore back there.
Logan has disappointed me all season and it's not because he isn't talented...

I don't want Wallace returning kicks either. He's too valuable as a WR. Logan is fine. Just block someone.

    Buh Bye Logan!

You can't hold a roster spot for a guy that does no more than not fumble a kick. Mewelde can do that and be a great 3rd down back as well.

I think we did better with Gary Russell back there.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. devin Hester couldn't run one back behind this pathetically coached special teams, that Tomlin defends the coach of. How about, firing the bum you hired, tomlin and bring in a guiy with at least a competent past record of coaching special teams?? not a guy who has coached the worst special teams incollege and the NFL.

Logan is right, Tomlin is making excuses. time for coach cliche to start taking some sort of real ****ing initiative with this special teams by oh I don't know... firing the **** coach that's been behind crappy special teams?? It's been 3 years and tomlin has done everything from changing personnel like a revolving door on the field to avoid the real issue

Logan has the highest return average for a Steelers player in over 15 years. Going into the Bengals game, Logan had the best return average since Woodson in 1989.

Logan is far from the or a problem

I don't care who is back there, but how abotu an occasional kickoff reverse, just to plant the seed. Dtto on a fake punt.

this special teams unit can barely block normal assignments, i can only imagine the mess that would be cause by planning a reverse by a coach that sucks

Devin Hester couldn´t run one back behind any line nowadays. Trust me, I have the ****face on my fantasy team.

I think Logan is spot on here and Tomlin is just trying to keep things calm behind the scenes with his answer. Better to have to talk to just one player in the office tha the entire ST.
I ´ve seen Logan dancing all over the place at times looking for an opening, so saying that he just runs up the middle is incorrect.
As I said before, what chance does the guy have when there are at least 2 unblocked defenders 5 yards away from him everytime he catches the ball?

Dedicating a roster spot for a specialist was something that was discussed early on in camp. Now we have it and it has not yet paid great dividends. The question is what does Logan bring to the table on ST's against kicks? We have given up a lot of returns and the loss of a very good ST'er (Madison) was most likely the result of Logan making the team. Was it worth it?
