    Default Time for......

the Wildcat. Hope BA has been working on it (hopefully with Dixon) and saving it for when we need it in one of our future tough games. Dixon would be perfect for it, the way he ran in college, plus hopefully he can till pass the ball.

You know we are going to see it at the end of the season when we play Miami and we better be ready for it. What better way to prep for it than to practice against it.

Below is a link on how to defend it. Interesting.

Last year in one of our meetings against the Turds they came at us with the "unbalanced line", which is a similar philosphy and formation as the Wildcat. I look to see them run it against us again.

Arians can't even get a ****ing basic scheme down pat.

We have too much talent to be farting around with gadget plays and Dixon's a pocket passer.

Did you watch the game Monday night? The Wildcat has converted from a gadget play to a total offense unique to itself and possibly the wave of the future until teams stop it.

Miami pretty much destroyed what was considered as a decent defense with the Wildcat.

The NFL is a copy cat league....just look at the the Cover 2, the Zone Blitz, and the West Coast offense for an examples.

To say Dixon is a pocket passer may have been correct but he was a hell of a runner with the ball in college. He can learn to pass on the run.

7 or 8 men on the line...unbalanced.....extra guard or TE.
Use a combination of Mendy, Moore, Wallace, and Dixon as backs or ends.
The variety of plays would be endless.

Why be last to get on the train?

    Meh, flavor of the day.

I'm not big on gadget plays. They're nice every once in a while, to keep the D honest but to make something like this part of the scheme?

Nah, stick with the fundamentals - they're tough enough to get right. Plus they win championships, why re-write a winning script?

I see it as the wave of the future..it will grow...teams will use it for complete series....just sayin.

At some point in time this year someone is going to pop it on us...when we aren't ready for it...just like the Turds and their unbalanced line.

All I know about the Wildcat is:
    1. I am glad we play Miami the last week of the season, should have plenty of film of it and most likely they will have nothing new left.
    2. We better be ready to stop it because there is a good chance that the game could be...a play in game. I hope not...at least for us, hopefully we will have taken care of business by then...but one never knows.

I just don't see it, bleed..... I agree with the fact that it can work at times, but I don't see it as the future.... It's just been 5 games, and I think the Jets might have been a bit over rated.... But I guess we'll see soon enough.... I do agree that I'm glad it's the last game so as more film, though.

I would rather brucey figure out how to put together the 60 minute offense where the emphesis is on sticking with what is working. It seems our specialty is the no-huddle and I'll settle for that. It seems to fit what we are and have, and works well when Ben goes to it.

The wildcat doesn't do much for me. Really what's the difference between snapping the ball to someone else other than the QB who maybe runs or passes or having the same thing in a QB like a Michael Vick? Rolling Ben out of the pocket is pretty effective IMO.

I'm just as comfortable with a formation other than a no-back one that the defense has to play for a pass or a run.

I see Miami using it until someone shuts it down....there are so many variations and formations to work with...hard to prepare for...and I am sure we haven't seen all of Miami's plays yet.

I don't believe that....they have a bye this week then have the Saints at home and then play the Jets again in NY...only 3 weeks apart from the 1st meeting....must be something to it for The Big Tuna to put his stamp on it.

If everything goes according to plan hopefully the game doesn't mean crap for us.

    Wildcat?

Ain't happening. Not here. It'll be forgotten in 2-3 years. If it takes that long..

We "kind of" ran it in the past with Randel El taking direct snaps (under Mularkey, I believe)...

I dont think it should be a staple of our offense, but it could probably help to pick up 3rd and 4-5 from time to time. I think with our line gelling, it is definately feasible! Necessary?... I don't think so (I'd rather see a quick slant to Holmes or Heath in the flat)...but I wouldnt discount it... to keep the opposing D on their heels!

I don't think it is worth it for teams that have a great QB. We could do it, I just don't think it is necessary. We need to just keep doing what we are doing. It is working and getting better each week. I don't mind gadget plays if they work. I don't even look at them as gadgets but rather clever plays.
