    Default Tomlin vs. Whiz

2nd year after the hiring of those two, Whiz to the Cards and Tomlin the Steelers, they both are in the Superbowl. Whiz team was right there with us other than the final drive. We win and the Cards lose. Now, the following season, as the Cards look poised to make another playoff run, the Cards are leading their division comfortably while the Steelers have endured 4 straight losses to be sitting at .500. Losing to some pretty bad teams, I might add.

So it begs me to ask this question.....did we pick the wrong guy? Would we be better off with Whiz as the Steelers HC? Doesn't appear they had a Superbowl hangover. What are your thoughts?

Personally I thought Tomlin was the man....but after seeing both sides of the ball struggle this year, and our secondary be the main issue even though he is a former D coordinator and secondary coach, I am scratching my head. I just don't know.

It's really hard to say. If Whiz got the Steeler job there's no guarantee the Steelers would have fared any better. I'll just add that I think Whiz is doing a fantastic job with thw Cardinals

Well, it is all factual information....not opinion. If it was my opinion I would say I think we made the right move but it is time for Tomlin to start being the head coach, and not just let the coaches he was handed do their thing while he sits by and takes the ride. Arians, has got to go. Our D needs retooled and maybe that means Lebeau retires after this year...who knows.

There are so many what ifs, yknow?

Is it the scheme or the players? The coach or the co-ordinators? It could go on and on.

I'm glad we don't make knee jerk reactions. Knee jerk reactions end up like the Cowboys or the Giants etc....

I will say that Whiz is doin a good job in AZ and i'm happy for him. I think Tomlin is ready for the job. I've been on record as being a big fan of Tomlin. I hope he rights the ship. It's his to right. If he doens't make changes though he runs the risk of looking out of place and we can't have that out of a head coach.

So I expect to see at minimal, some changes quite soon.

I don't think it has anything to do with Tomlin's coaching at all. Tomlin makes some bad decisions every once in a while such as the fg attempt was a bad decision. While the blame lies with other parts of this team imo, the Hc at all times, regardless of whether or not it is actually his fault -it is ultimately his fault based on his position with the team.

If nothing else, at least the O play calls would have been better IMO if Whiz was here.
