    Who I like

First, let's address the injury issues. Both Hines Ward and William Gay will be out for the Steelers' game against Cleveland Thursday.

But with heavy winds and snow forecast, that might not be all that significant. This game will come down to an old-fashioned running contest.

In that kind of matchup, you have to like the Steelers, even though the weather conditions may make things a little tricky.

Brady Quinn has struggled mightily with his accuracy on his deep passes and his young receiving corps has struggled holding onto the football on a regular basis.

That makes this a perfect game to see what rookie cornerbacks Joe Burnett and Keenan Lewis have to offer.

Much like their game in Cleveland last year, a 10-6 win in heavy winds, the Steelers will win a game that is closer than it should be, 14-7.

With Ward out, rookie receiver Tyler Grisham has been promoted from the practice squad to give the Steelers a fourth receiver.

Ive been following the forecast up here (NEOH) all week...It's gonna be COLD, SNOWY, and WINDY! This is typical for NEOH this time of year...HOWEVER...Stains' Stadium is literally RIGHT on the lake. This means the wind is going to be brutal, but the snow typically moves to the eastern counties/suburbs known as the "snow belt." It will still mostlikely be flurrying with windchills in the single digits.

That said, these are the games that are always assumed to be "3yds and a poof af snow" type games...but I wont hold my breath, I have a feeling we will attack Clevelands pathetic secondary early and often (then again, we could easily exploit their pathetic front seven, on the ground). I dont think our gameplan will vary much, given the forecast, IMHO.

I really think the snow will be a minimal effect since the majority of the storm will have moved off to the NE... And you're exactly right about the lake effect on it (Jim Cantore would be proud... ).... The wind is gonna be brutal, though.... Man, down here in Cincy, we had gusts over 60mph today and the tem has dropped 25 degrees over the last 4-5 hours...

... Found this other "preview" on the net.

Lately, the Pittsburgh Steelers have looked just as weak as the Cleveland Browns, the team they face Thursday night. Well, maybe not on the field, but on the scoreboard, where the Steelers have dropped four in a row.

In fact, the only team in the NFL with a longer current slide is Cleveland, which has dropped seven straight and seems determined to grab the worst-in-the-league label for itself despite two other one-win teams, St. Louis and Tampa Bay.

Few NFL rivalries are as intense or nasty as this one, so the NFL Network must be counting on enmity replacing quality, something the Browns haven't displayed all year and the defending champion Steelers lost a month ago.

Pittsburgh is a 9-point favorite for the road game, needing a victory to keep its slipping postseason hopes alive.

"You see a lot of guys are bummed and down, but that's not going to change things and give us a win against the Raiders, that's behind us," Ben Roethlisberger said. "Of course, we can be mad and upset about it, but we have to look forward and that's to the Cleveland Browns."

The Browns have nothing but being a spoiler to look forward to. Not this time.

Jim Cantore?...I get my local weather from Cleveland's finest Fox affiliate weather-dinosaur, Dick Goddard.
Here is a sketch from a couple of other local douchbag TV hosts (Big Chuck n' Little John) from years back that featured Goddard as the "scientist."

This is the kind of drivel that you still see in the local Cleveland market, when it comes to bashing Da' Burgh and our fans...I wish I could move back home

I mentioned elsewhere about the weather conditions coming into play and helping our woeful secondary since this should be more of a running game.

The key word is :should". I cant see the Browns passing too much, but I can for some reason see Ben and Arians think they can throw the ball around in ****ty weather

I'm a bit concerned now, one turnover that is turned into 6 points can be fatal in these types of games. I hate weather games. Come on Steelers, hold on to the ball please.

Mendy will need to be sharp the way he was in the San Diego game. He should be anyway, since he's been one of the bright spots in this season.

@ 5-0: ball control will be key to winning. No turnovers can be tolerated.

@ Kip: I plan on kidnapping BA and dumping his *** into Lake Erie if he even dreams of ****ing passing in the bull**** they're going to be playing in.
