What's the point really? Just let him sit out the rest of the season.
"He had no teeth, and he was slobbering all over himself. I'm thinking, 'You can have your money back, just get me out of here. Let me go be an accountant." I can't tell you how badly I wanted out of there." Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

They already brought him back too early once already. I agree, no sense in trashing his knee any further for pride.

Although I'm guessing Mikey's feeling the heat now, so he'll probably play.

    You can't possibly mean that.

He played more than that last year. If you meant that then it is a ridiculous statement.

His style of play makes him vulnerable to injury so I am surprised he hasn't suffered more serious injuries than he has. Troy has a knack for healing quickly so don't give up on him so fast. This season is a bust, next year he will be back better than ever. I would not play him again this year.

Absolutely brother, and I hear your frustration with Troy and his injury but Troy is hardly done. He is simply the best and already a legend. When he is playing he makes everyone in that secondary better. He is the straw that stirs the drink- and he will be back and so will the Steelers. We all are angry and frustrated but this team is not that far away- not with the talent we have: Troy, Harrison, Woodley, Aaron Smith, Ben, Holmes, Hines, etc. Something else is the issue and as ****ty as we have played all year, we only lost by a 4 point average margin in our losses. It can be fixed as quickly as next season. I really believe that.

If I am the Steelers I put him on IR. I consider moving him to free safety as well and draft Mays out of USC to play strong safety and do the blitzing Troy did. Mays is about as big as a LB yet as fast as a top end CB. Let Troy sit back there and disect QB's and get 10 picks a season without all the bumps and bruises and ligament damage.
