    Default Seattle Mariners

I'd have to say as of right now, the Seattle Mariners seem to be making some great moves. I like the Figgins pick up, putting him one-two with Ichiro and the trading for Lee. Based on these two moves, I think they are front runners for the west right now....Angels be darned.

Jack Z has done a lot of pretty classic Moneyball stuff, but he's doing it on a $100 million budget, which I guess means it's not Moneyball. It looks like he's still left some fairly sizable holes in the offense, though. Jack Wilson struggled big time in his short AL West stint last year, left field is a question mark, catcher is a question mark, and they haven't done anything to replace the unexpected power surge from Branyan at first. That one-two punch in the rotation is about as good as it gets, though, and they should play top notch defense with Wilson, Figgins, and Gutierrez. I guess there's still room to add a bat if they can find one.

Very difficult to do what he did in the playoffs but I think he can have a great season this upcoming year for the Mariners. If he can avoid injury, I will predict 19-10 for Lee, maybe better....I forgot to add maybe better if they add some more offense.
