Default OMG! Sweed Out for Rest of Season.

    Sweed, Warren out for season

The Steelers have two roster spots to fill after placing long snapper Greg Warren on injured reserve and wide receiver Limas Sweed on the reserve/non-football illness list.

Both are out for the rest of the season.

Warren had to be carried off the field Sunday after Jeff Reed kicked the extra point that gave the Steelers a 37-36 win over the Green Bat Packers. He appeared to have torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

Sweed, who caught just one pass for five yards this season, didn't dress for the game against the Packers because of the illness.

No loss with Sweed, hope they can find a good long snapper before Sunday, maybe the guy that came in last year after Warren went out.

Hard to believe he is gone due to illness, can't imagine him even being able to catch a cold.

I still think we can get something out of Sweed. Call me crazy but I would hate to see us unload him, only for him, to be "that player" somewhere else.
Like for example the Patriots. You don't get to the NFL, let alone picked in the 2nd round, because you can't catch.

    **** Sweed.

You still hold onto some sort of hope for Sweed that he'll pull through, yet Tomlin can go **** himself? You're right, it would've been a lil' dull around here if you'd have stayed away like you promised. Who's dumb *** posts could I laugh at then?

No surprises here - Sweed's officially a bust, why waste a roster spot on the guy? He hasn't even been seeing ST squad duty.

Chalk this one up to a wasted second round pick - and I don't think picking Sweed was a mistake, hindsight is 20/20 of course but he was certainly value on draft day. **** happens.

Losing Warren is a much, much bigger loss. Remember what happened last time when we put our "reserve" long snapper in.

I would agree with a wasted pick and bust but that doesn't mean he won't come around. Personally I don't even think it's his fault, this coaching staff ruined him imo. No development skills and just overall they haven't handled him very well. If they cut him before next season I bet he goes on to play well for someone else.

... He obviously has the talent, but just cannot produce... Blame him, blame coaches, blame it on a leap-year, whatever... Yea, he will EVENTUALLY do something, but whether we continue to give him a roster spot remains to be seen... I'd hate to see him go elsewhere and finally dig his head out of his ***, but how many opportunities does one player get?

Let someone else waste the time to try to develop him. If he makes it oh well, but every now and then...a bust sneeks threw.....looks like a prospect...a project than can be develop...but never does.
