Steelers were hard at work on the South Side but there are still question marks surrounding their health.

Hines Ward and Mike Wallace each suffered injuries Sunday against Green Bay but on Thursday they were working through them at practice.

"I'm going to give it a shot today, just gradually get into it," Ward, who is nursing a pulled hamstring, said. "Coach Tomlin, he always says, 'I'm [going to] get you to the party, just show up and compete and play for us.'"

    Wallace suffered a knee injury.

"I'm coming along. It should be cool," Wallace said. "Just a little banged up. When I bend my knee, you know it feels like it's just stretching a little bit so you know but it'll be alright. It's healing pretty good. You know, I'm taking my medicine and stuff like that so it's healing."

Meanwhile, even with the injury to Rashard Mendenhall, it appears he is the back of the future, which means Willie Parker could be playing his final home game Sunday as a member of the Steelers.

And while "Fast" Willie declined to comment on whether he would come back next year in a backup role, he did go into great detail on how much he's enjoyed his time in Pittsburgh.

"Of course the time, getting to know [my teammates], know their families on and off the field and know the meaning of being a real teammate, I mean I think it's real, it's a lot of love with that," Parker said. "Hopefully I'll be here but you know the nature of this business or whatever I mean it is what it is."

A new OC could make Mendenhall and Parker a helluva backfield duo. Willie has been running pretty good when he has a chance.
