IDK man he just isn't that good plain and simple. People have been predicting every year he will come out blazing but the truth is he has barely been average ever since the Kemo incident. ****em

He played scared--- plain and simple. He has no one to throw to, and is afraid of getting hit.

Yea, he hasn't been the same since the "Kemo incident", and yea, he doesn't have the quality "go to" guy that TJ was, but it's still no excuse...

He's not a leader. I hear it on the news regularly when he's interviewed... He doesn't have the "presence" that a star qb should have... He's a disappointment.

Carson Palmer? They'd be better off with Carl Palmer - at least he's got rhythm!

Touche... Guess I should have chosen my words more carefully....

He's "disappointing" to the local fans here in Cincy....

Either way, I expected more out of the guy.

Just a joke but you aren't the only one this guy appears in all of those QB power wank lists still. He really hasn't proven anything in his career. I was talking to someone not long ago and I was telling him what I think of Palmer and he was all... no he is good, lead the Bengals to the playoffs many times! Once... twice now but still no playoff wins. People don't even realize how unremarkable his career has been.

Palmer sucks. Zimmer's overachieving defense and Cedric Benson having a career year carried Palmer. All carson had to do was not **** up... problem is... when he was needed this year he couldn't do it. The guy isn't anywhere near what he was, now he's just a mere "Game Manager". I guy that passes for under 200 yards, has a bad passing percentage and is relied onto hand the ball off and not turn it over.

It's hard to say that he "hasn't been the same" since the Kimo thing. There really isn't a lot to go by on what kind of QB he was before that. Didn't play as a rookie in '03, struggled in '04 with 18 TDs and 18 INTs. His 2005 was his breakout year with 3800 yards, 32 TD, 12 INT. He came back for '06 and had 4000 yards, 28 TD, 13 INT, which isn't significantly different. '07 he threw a lot more picks, and '08 he barely played.

Statistically there's not a lot that says he was much different in '06 immediately following the injury. He took way more sacks that year (from 19 to 36), but that came all the way back down to 17 the following season, and may have been an offensive line issue. Since there's such a limited amount of data and he was pretty similar the following season it doesn't seem likely that that injury is the cause of his problems this year.
