    Default Ben strikes back...

    http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/33352117/ns/sports-nfl/

    Shazam, baby!

Ben never denied the deed of darkness (in this case, he truly knows no fear!) and now it's time to fry Mr Ed's rump.

    Hasta la bye bye, bint!

    Here's the article:

Roethlisberger sues his accuser, admits to having sex with her

RENO, Nev. - Ben Roethlisberger is seeking unspecified counter damages from a woman he says falsely accused him of rape in what his lawyer describes as a plan she hatched to seduce the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback in his Lake Tahoe casino-hotel room.

The woman alleged in a civil suit filed in Washoe District Court in July that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her at Harrah’s in July 2008 after he lured her there under the false pretense of needing his television repaired.

Roethlisberger’s lawyer, John Echeverria, said in a response to the lawsuit filed this week that the woman made up the story because she knew it was against Harrah’s policy for employees to visit a guest’s room without a work-related purpose.
Story continues below ↓advertisement | your ad here

Her violation of the policy “was a deliberate step in her plan to seduce Mr. Roethlisberger,” Echeverria wrote.

“At all times while she was in Mr. Roethlisberger’s room, (the woman) acted voluntarily. Mr. Roethlisberger did not sexually assault, assault, batter, falsely imprison or otherwise commit any crime.”

The response to the lawsuit includes counterclaims against the two-time Super Bowl winner’s accuser for “extortion, abuse of process and defamation.”

He seeks unspecified damages in excess of $10,000 to compensate for “lost opportunity for endorsement deals and other revenues, damage to his reputation, emotional distress and legal fees and costs.”

The woman “willfully, intentionally and maliciously made and published unprivileged defamatory statements including that Mr. Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her,” Echeverria said.

Cal Dunlap, the woman’s lawyer, said Friday he had no comment on the new filing.

The woman’s lawsuit alleges hotel officials for Harrah’s Lake Tahoe went to great lengths to cover up the incident. It seeks a minimum of $440,000 in damages from the quarterback, at least $50,000 in damages from the Harrah’s officials and an unspecified amount of punitive damages “sufficient to deter” Roethlisberger and the others “from engaging in such conduct in the future.”

The woman’s lawsuit says she didn’t file a criminal complaint because she feared Harrah’s would side with Roethlisberger and she would be fired.

The woman said once she went to Roethlisberger’s room, she determined the TV was functioning properly but as she turned to leave, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound NFL star blocked her exit. She claims he grabbed her and started to kiss her, and she was “shocked and stunned that this previously friendly man, that appeared to be a gentleman in her previous contacts with him was suddenly preventing her from leaving, was assaulting her and battering her.”

She said she feared he could or would physically harm her if she tried to fight him off, but that she objected and protested several times to no avail.

Echeverria said in the new filing the woman “has a history of using sex and lies to get what she wants.”

He said the woman and her lawyer have engaged in a “conspiracy to wave a tangled web of lies, deceit and misdirection in the hopes of leveraging a quick and extortionate payoff from a celebrity known for his good character, athletic talent and generosity to his community.

“The resulting complaint is based on the fantastical imaginings of a desperate woman with significant credibility issues.”

I'm actually considering getting a legal waiver drawn up and have prospects sign it before hand.

I'm surprised that this is still being dragged out yet on the other hand am not surprised. It just seems like this thing has gone nowhere. We're still at "No, I didn't" from each side with both sides lawyers trying to one up each other

On one side I see this as a good thing, maybe this will make women stop and have to think about it before they decide to falsely accuse a sport's star of rape for money. Also on one hand it looks as if he's willing to fight for his reputation.
On the other side I see it as a bad thing. For one he is now basically admitting publicly to having sex with her and there will people who make him out to be the big rich meany wanting money from a poor woman.

I guess though at this point he's ****ed if he does and ****ed if he doesn't.

Hopefully though this has taught Ben a hard lesson. Fair or not, you're a celebrity, you have to be careful not only who you have sex with, but who you're alone with. If I was a high profile rich man, I wouldn't ever be alone with a woman I didn't know. I wouldn't even allow a female housekeeper in my room. Leno made a joke the other night about his life being videoed 24 hours a day, I'm not sure I wouldn't actually go that far.

YEah, I dont doubt that this incident hasn't shed some perspective on Ben. You could easily have sex with a woman at a hotel when you're in college or a nobody but as soon as you have some status you can't do that stuff without knowing that it can get twisted by someone looking for an opportunity.

This whole thing will likely end up going in Ben's favor and i don't know if it's done as much damage or mroe damage than him crashing the bike, at least when it comes to opposing teams fans and their lame jokes and such. In the bigger picture, I don't see this as something that's tarnished his image as badly as one might have thought

I have actually been surprised by this. But aside from the Rapistberger stuff at first I haven't heard much flak about it from the cowgirl fans around here. But then he would probably be their hero if they thought he did rape her.

Cowgirls fans are too ****ed off at Tony Homo right now. They've been ****ed at him since last year and it's only getting worse. Ben probably is viewed as GOD next to Homo in Dallas. There's actually a Dallas fan that stands outside of the school with the rest of us waiting for the kids to get dismissed for the walkers and he HATES Tony Homo. Has said on multiple occasions, he wished they had drafted a QB like Ben

Interestingly enough...I wonder if its less of an issue b/c of how the Pittsburgh fans stand behind their players. I remember when similar accusations were thrown at Jerome Bettis and people stood behind him and it came out that he didn't even know the woman and that it was plotted against him. Its getting too crazy in this world for sure.

I'm not surprised that this has drug out.

I think Ben is innocent, but the characters involved, including his lawyers are going to milk this for everything they think it could be worth to them.
