Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma announced that forward Eric Godard will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a groin injury.

"Eric Godard is 4-6 weeks with a groin injury," Bylsma said. "He is still be evaluated with where he is at with that. It will be long term."

The only player in the NHL more overpaid than MAF is Jordan Staal

This is why Johnson was called back up most likely. I do agree, the team toughness is next to 0 now

We got anybody in Wilkes Barrie that can play 2 minutes a game and fight legit heavy weights?
ďItís a game of emotion, itís a game of hard work.
Itís a game of passion, Kovalchuk, what he did the other day Ė thereís not one guy who was close to doing something. Maybe Maxime Talbot at the end with one second left. Hes about 5ft8 pfft"

Shero loaded up WBS with tough guys. Can they play two minutes a game -not so much.

Brookbank would likely be the first call-up if we want fighting. They also have Boulerice and Boogard. Not as pugilisitic but gritty would be Wallace, Engelland or Sill.

I would think one of the above gets called up at some point, especially for games against the Cryers or other teams with more than one knuckle-dragger.

Wade Brookbank has filled that role capably for several NHL teams including Carolina last season. He big enough and experienced enough to take on any NHL HW. If the Pens starting getting pushed around, he'll be called up. He won't get embarrassed as a fourth line winger.

Boogaard has been a mediocre fighter and can't even crack the WBS lineup. He could not handle the enforcer role in the NHL and would get embarrassed on the fourth line - no chance.

Jesse Boulerice also has few season of experience as an NHL enforcer and could fill that role. He is on a one-way AHL deal. The Pens could sign him and bring him up but that is unlikely.

Deryk Engelland can throw down with any HW. In the past he has taken all the top AHL HW although he is relatively small for an NHL HW. He is a defenseman. However, early in his AHL career when he was viewed primarily as a goon, he played some wing with Hershey. If Brookbank were hurt and the Pens needed some muscle its possible that could bring Engelland up and put him on the wing. Although its difficult to "enforce" as a dman, they could bring Engelland up and plug him in the lineup as a dman against Philly and some of the tougher teams.

There's no chance we bring a guy, who skates like he's stuck in mud, to play wing on this team, especially considering he hasn't played it for years.

Brookbank's the best option, failing him, Boulerice. Both of them are better fighters than engelland anyway, and have done it at the NHL level.
