Default Pics from PNC Park today

None of them particularly great, but figured I'd throw them up here. Went down to meet with a guy about ticket plans and take a tour. Lastings Milledge, Andy LaRoche, Daniel McCutchen, and Charlie Morton were there just hanging out and signing for a pretty small group of fans as they're already in town for Piratefest. All of them seemed pretty excited about actual baseball activities starting up. Morton and LaRoche seemed the most interested in actually meeting people, while Lastings and Daniel McCutchen were sitting together talking and would get pretty quiet when fans came up. LaRoche actually personalized every autograph he signed while all of the other players just had piles already done.

Here's a shot of the team's indoor batting cages. I got to see a little of the computer equipment that they have to mimic a pitcher's time to the plate to get timing down. Interesting stuff.

A shot of Clemente's quote on the stairs towards the dugout:

Here's a picture of the field I took while sitting on the dugout bench:

And this one from the top of the dugout steps:

A shot of the snow covered field and the view from the press box:

    The '79 World Series trophy:

    Lastings:

    Daniel McCutchen and Charlie Morton:

My Andy LaRoche picture didn't turn out that great, but here it is anyway:

I don't mind the hair personally, but I'm more curious who the hell told him that wearing Carolina blue under his Pirates jersey was a great fashion statement

Awesome pictures Jnn... I saved the picture of PNC field with the snow on it. that picture is too **** cool. you rarely see that.

I've got a question that's been bugging me and it's weird but you might be able to help being down at PNC... the past few weeks Ive been fishing around the Pirates official site and noticed that you are really starting to see less and less of the "pirate logo" and seeing alot more of the "P" logo, almost as if they seem to be trying to slowly phase out the pirate logo to some frequently seen thing here and there but using the "P" as the main symbol of the team.... Did you notice any less of the Pirates logo on the newer stuff that was displayed just for Pirates fest? (Im assuming they wouldn't make a bunch of changes to PNC Park this time of the season)...

True but Morton just looks like a kid that everyone hangs out with who usually brings the weed to the party

There's a woman standing behind him in the picture and his hair and hers kind of blend together and I had no idea what was going on for a second. His dreads were pretty long now, though.

I probably would have had to be looking for it to really tell you. What I saw didn't really strike me as being different from last year, but now that I think about it there did seem to be a lot of P logo and not as much of the Pirate. I'm not really sure if anything was actually different, though.

I'm not even sure if he knew I was taking his picture at the time. He seemed like a good guy for the most part. He quickly agreed to pose for a couple pictures with the group that was there and got the other players to join in as well.

It seemed like this was a pretty strange event for the players. It wasn't advertised anywhere, and there probably weren't more than 20 or so people there at any one time.

A tip I picked up for anyone looking to go to a few games with a group:
If you buy a 20 game season plan you can break it down to be 2 seats to 10 games or 4 seats to 5 games, 5 seats to 4 games, etc. in any combination you'd choose. Basically you're just buying 20 tickets. Having at least a 20 game plan is where they draw the cutoff for being considered an actual season ticket holder where you get all the additional perks. So you could basically just get a group of 5 people to go to 4 games and get free tickets to all 3 days of Piratefest, a few special events, the season ticket holder day where you get to take BP on the field and shag fly balls, etc. Had I known I would have been doing that for years.

That is an interesting tip. So, it's not really a 20 game plan, it's just a 20 ticket plan. It could be a 2 game plan in the end? Man are they hurting for some ticket sales

I might have to look into that

I think maybe it's something they don't really let you in on unless you agree to come in and meet one of the personal ticket reps. You also avoid all of the fees and tax on the tickets doing it that way. Everyone who orders online or over the phone kind of gets screwed. He really made it seem like 10 game plans were the worst idea ever when I told him I'd be interested in going to about 10 games. The way he explained it it would really only make sense if you went to 10 games by yourself. I assume just about everyone goes in a group of at least two.

Another shot of the field for you, Kipper. I tried to get a little more to the center, but there were a bunch of chairs in the way. I blame all those messy reporters.

And here's one from the outfield in:

And here's one last one that I forgot I took of the original design model for PNC Park:

Man, wouldn't it be great to actually have a playoff series at PNC?

What type of plan do you need to get playoff tickets?
