    Default Hurricanes trade Wallin

More on Wallin not accepting trade, for now: http://bit.ly/aRECG7

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Niclas Wallin has not yet decided to waive his no-trade clause and accept a move to the San Jose Sharks, TFP has learned.
Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford admitted yesterday to the Raleigh News & Observer that he had a deal in place for a "good young asset," but the deal has fallen apart, at least for now.

According to one source, Wallin has not yet rejected the trade, but he hasn't given his approval, either. It's believed Wallin's agent, Paul Theofanous, and Sharks GM Doug Wilson are re-working his contract.

With a trade still possible, Wallin, who has notched five assists in 47 games with the Hurricanes this season, will be scratched from tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are still trying to deal veteran left wing Ray Whitney, who also has a no-trade clause.

Jordan Tootoo re-signs with Nashville for 2 years, averaging $1.25 million per year. Good signing, popular player, prickly to play against.
about 4 hours ago from web Kovy gone, Whitney on deck, Ponikarovky in the hole. Considerable interest in Leafs' Ponikarovsky, but Pens not among suitors. It's early.

could see Poni's value being higher than expected. A lot of teams would love to add a winger, isnt much out there other than Whitney
