Default Would L.T. fit in with the Steelers?

Adam Schefter reported today, that L.T. Has been released by the bolts this evening and that there really isn't a lot of interest in him. Adam said he'll probably be a 3rd down back where ever he goes, getting around 12-15 cpg. I am thinking he might be a nice fit for a couple of years. He can catch the ball and still has some life left in his legs. I wouldn't mind seeing him here at all.

Schefter and Merril Hodge both mentioned the Steelers as a possible landing place for L.T. he wants to go to a contender.and the Steelers will have a need if Parker is gone. They said L.T. is still very good at picking up blitzes, and would be a good teacher for young backs. Even with that,I still don't see it happening.

If its at a good rate...I'd take him...he is still a good leader...good individual (by all account we know of)...can still be a good teacher...and would be a pretty darn good 2nd back...and he can still be an adequate receiver. The question is, essentially, would you rather have a declining LT or FWP? I'll take a declining LT.

It would start with the cost obviously, but to sign him to a one year deal, we'd be getting a character guy who works hard and is driven by desire to get a ring. Imagine what he could teach Mendenhall. He is 31, but he is a hell of a lot better than Moore and would still be a hell of an option to have if Mendy goes down.

LT's numbers have fallen off progressively over the last three seasons. He's gone from 1400+ yards in 2007 to just under 800 yards in 2009. Having missed some time due to injury this past season, his durability going forward could be in question... I'm guessing for a complimentary back he's simply gonna be too expensive for the cost as well as the "bang for the buck".... But LT can catch the ball out of the backfield, which would be a nice addition to our backfield... He would make defenders pay attention.

As for him being a "character guy", I'm not so sure I buy it... I seem to remember him in the Divisional Playoff game (or the one earlier in the season) in '08 sitting at the end of the bench pretty much "pouting" and not being a team player... I'm not saying he's not a "team" guy, but I don't recall anything to prove that he is... But that's really neither here nor there.

Bottom line is that I would lose no sleep if we were to pass on him, which will probably be the case... It's not in the nature of our front office to go after a player like this IMO.

I don't it will happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be upset about it. I believe he'll end up in philly now, as was mentioned earlier.

I've always thought he was really overrated, especially the past few years.
I agree with what Steelreign says; I don't see it happening but I really don't think it would hurt us too badly.
