Default A Toughie: Colby Armstrong or Pascal Dupuis?

If we had to choose right now between the two, who is it?

    Pascal Dupuis.

    Pascal kills penalties better.

Other than that, both are 3rd liners, forced into roles above their similar skillset. Pascal is a better player in his own zone and back checker than Armstrong as well

Colby Armstrong hands down. I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but I think you get a better package with Colby. I disagree that Pascal is a better Penalty killer. Colby was always one of our best Penalty killers while he was here. Plus Colby can legitimately give you 20+ goals per year playing on a team like the penguins, whereas Pascal's realistic totals are between 10-15. Colby is more physical, yet still positionally responsible (for you Kipper ). Colby is younger. Pascal is faster. Colby is a great locker room presence, whereas Pascal seems more reserved. Pascal just flies up and down the ice with no real purpose, and then he usually shoots the puck into the chest of the goalie.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't want them to go out and get Colby, but if I had to choose between Colby and Pascal, I'd take Colby in a heartbeat.

Without actually watching them (watching them with the eyes, Pascal is a better PK'er), our PK was pretty crummy with Colby on it. and stinks in Atlanta with Colby on it.

Colby is only physical when it involves the big blatant open ice that he feels sorry about for weeks on end afterward. If you wanna go by stats... Dupuis has more hits this year than Colby Armstrong.

"great locker room presence" = No cups, no playoff series victories. There for, doesn't matter

Colby can't give you 20 goals a season on average. He did that once in his career the same as Pascal Dupuis.

Colby simply does nothing better than Pascal Dupuis not to mention this very big fact......... Armstrong = $2.4 per year | Dupuis = $1.4 per year.. Dupuis is overpaid IMO, that makes Armstrong a ****ing albatross

There is something to be said for a guy that everyone likes who can loosen the mood and keep things fun...cup or no cup.

Pascal did it once 8 years ago, Colby did it last year and that was his 3rd full season in the league. This year he is slumping, probably due to being thrust into a role he isn't cut out for...that's why I said he could score 20+ "on a team like the Penguins"

Colby simply does nothing better than Pascal Dupuis not to mention this very big fact......... Armstrong = $2.4 per year | Dupuis = $1.4 per year.. Dupuis is overpaid IMO, that makes Armstrong a ****ing albatross

Look, bottom line is Colby is a +3 and Pascal is a +1...end of story.

haha, but seriously, I don't care either way, I don't want either of them, and I definitely was not taking $$$ into consideration.

But flat out, money issues aside, pick one for my team in a game of pickup pond hockey...I'm taking Colby.
