Default Got My Buffett Tix!... Oh Yea!

... Gonna see him twice in 3 days... First in Indy (May 15th), then again here in Cincy (May 17th)...

I am the world's largest Parrothead.... Seen him close to 20 times, and just jack the party up a notch each time!....

LoL!.... I could give you numerous reasons as to why I like the guy... Literally...

Les, it's not like I don't want comments, you know that... Especially since yours are "few and far between" nowadays... It's just that he's the one constant I've had for quite a while in my life thru good times and bad, and I like him/his stuff/philosophy alot... Nothing more than that, brother...

Man, you'd be suprised with some of the get-ups I have for these concerts....

... And (419), it is when I go to them... Got a buddy with a large motorcoach, we set-up the night before and leave the day after... All-weather field turf carpeting under the awning hanging out front, Directv, full-size grill, overstocked bar, the works....

... And if you recalled my tailgate menu, it's pretty similar....

Going to a Jimmy Buffett concert is more about the "party and the experience"... If you haven't seen him live, it's hard to explain... It's sorta like "leaving your troubles at the door and just have fun".

As I said previously, I've seen him close to 20 times or so... Multiple times in Cincy, Indy, Miami, Daytona, Key West, Pittsburgh (they used to call it Star Lake Ampitheater back in the day), as well as Phoenix and Austin Texas. The crown jewel was a trip down to the Carribbean island of Antigua for a "Buffett Woodstock" for a complete weekend... One of the shows in Pgh was nothing more than him and his guitar after lightening hit the power transformer and there was no electricity in the entire place... Restrooms were dark, as were the beer vendors.

I've been so drunk that I fell on two midgets while chugging Rumplemintz. I've ripped the door off of my buddy's Toyota truck while backing it up with the door open. I've slept (passed-out) thru one show. I've gone by way of just a car and a cooler in the back. And now I usually try to do it via motorhome with all the toys and alot of friends. These later years are tempered with a bit more discretion, but are just as fun.

... But it's all about the fun... If you've never seen him live, I really suggest giving it a shot... Until then, you really can't compare it to anything else.

My fiance didn't like Buffett at all before I took her to her first show... Now she gets decked-out in a coconut bra and grass skirt for each outing...

It's alot of fun, and a way to forget about your troubles for at least one evening.

I can compare it to something else in terms of band with a large, dedicated bunch of fans who are themselves a large fun part of the show experience.

    GRATEFUL DEAD!

I have seen the Dead several times and intend to again. I have 35 separate Dead discs in my collection, some very rare. I've loved this band now for 38 years, since I bought my first album by them. I have one tatoo, a Grateful Dead Steelie in red white and blue on my shoulder.

    Looks like this <

    But it doesn't move unless...

I like the "Dead".... Liked it more when I could "explore alternatives".....

.... But I had to give that **** up 25 years ago.

Since then, the concerts weren't as much fun....
