    I believe you are correct...

... It's just a REAL SLOW news time, and I'm scraping to find anything on topic for new posts as reading material....

No,it's not that I was just curious if it meant they were not wanting to tip their hand, so to speak to other teams.

I dunno ray.... I mean, yea, I know it happens... But is it really smart to do it this way?... I guess if you have enough info, these visits are just "icing", and not really too important... Again, I dunno.

That's my thinking, and I like you don't know, but I imagine the Steelers have plenty of meetings between the F.O,scouts and coaches that we don't know about.

By all accounts Mendenhall was supposed to be off the board well before our pick.

Lots of CB's & OT's on that list......

I could be wrong, but I thought I read recently that the Steelers always try and meet with their top picks.

Unless this year they are trying to "throw off the bad guys."

Thomas, Iupati, and Wilson (stretch) seem like the onyl possible Frist Rounders. No Dan Williams, McClain, Bruce Campbell, Weatherspoon, etc.

Related/unrelated. I am intrigued with the Steeler "trading down, if we still could pick up Pouncey or Odrick.)

Hope they consider Josh Hull from PSU, he may have already did a visit, he would make a good ILB one day, very smart, could add to ST's right away.

Although he is expected to be gone by the time the Steelers make their pick, one of the players Steeler coach Mike Tomlin and his staff interviewed during the Florida Gators Pro day at the University of Florida, was cornerback Joe Haden, this according to him.

GAINESVILLE, FLA. - Steeler coach Mike Tomlin was in Florida, but it wasn't for a vacation. Instead he was scouting players at Florida's Pro day and according to a source from the University had his eye on two players.

One was a linebacker (more on that Friday) and the other being quarterback Tim Tebow who after choosing not to throw at the NFL combine, showed his new throwing motion on a cool morning in what Gator fans fondly call the 'Swamp'.

GAINESVILLE, FLA - The Steelers coaching staff sat down with another Florida player during its Pro Day, this according to a source at the University.

That player is linebacker Brandon Spikes, who many feel have the size to make a switch to Outside linebacker or even a Defensive end in the 3-4 scheme.

The Steelers confirmed that when they begin visits by college prospects Monday, one on the list is Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount. He was suspended for much of last season for sucker-punching an opponent who had taunted him after Boise State upset the Ducks in the season opener.

Only two likely first round picks there though.
