Default Trade Up , Trade Down or Stay at #18?

I don't know how to construct a questionairre, so I'll just ask the question.

If you were the Steelers management, woud you trade UP (giving up our First and Second picks) to get ILB Rolando McClain in the First?

Would you trade down picking up an extra Third (likely not a Second),if you could pick C/OG Pouncey or DE Odrick in the First?

Or, would you stay put at #18 and take the BAA?

If a solid guard or tackle is available, take him.

If not, trade down. We have a lot of spots to fill - like WR considering Holmes is pretty much a short-timer. OL, S, D-line, CB.

    Lotta spots to fill.

This is something I've been thinking about lately - how the new Steeler management will draft this year. Might be a change of philosophy going on.

depends on the situation. if the value isn't there, i wouldn't be opposed to a move back. if there is a player close that we covet, and there is the possibility of losing him, i wouldn't be opposed to a trade up.

Both moves are logical, I am seeking what posters "think" think we should do.

If we traded up we wouldn't be giving up our 2nd round pick. That'd be way too much value.

I'd wait it out and see who is available at #18...and weigh BAA vs. trading down for Pouncey. If I like the value of whoever is at 18 better...I take him...if I like Pouncey+pick better I trade down and hope I can get Pouncey.

The Steelers also are going to have to look for a WR now...Golden Tate possibly.

To move up to the Tenth spot in Round 1 (or wherever Jacksonville drafts), where they likely can get McClain, you think they could do so for just a Third and #18?

    I'd make that deal.

If it were me,I'd trade back.I'd like to have to have more second, third rounders. This is a deep draft and this teams needs are many,JUST AN OPINION.

If we were to move up, I like the thought of Joe Haden with Polamalu which sends Gay to the bench which is a big + by just - Gay's ***.... and gives us two big playmakers in the secondary Haden and Polamalu which was one of our biggest problems last year....no big plays on D.

I dont see the Steelers doing that right now...but if they did they might have to include a 5th.
