Charges dropped against Steelers kicker Reed

PITTSBURGH (AP)A Pittsburgh judge has dismissed disorderly conduct and public drunkenness charges against Steelers kicker Jeff Reed.

Reed had been charged after an October 2009 confrontation with police outside of a bar. Judge Richard King dropped two charges against Reed in March and told Reed he would also dismiss the remaining two charges if Reed completed community service.

Reed did his community service with the Salvation Army. The judge dismissed the charges Monday.

Reeds attorney did not immediately return a call for comment Monday.

The charges marked the second time in 2009 that Reed had a run-in with the law. He paid fines and restitution after pleading guilty last year to damaging a paper towel dispenser in a Pittsburgh-area convenience store bathroom weeks after the Steelers won the Super Bowl.

I forgot about that character. He looks like a choirboy compared to Smokey and Ben. You know he's thanking them for taking the heat off of him.

All these bad actors need consequences, Reed included. No way any of us common people could walk free of this ****. I'm sick of double standards. My best friend is a PA state trooper and my cousin is a Washington State trooper. I also know a bunch of other cops personally. Cops don't just pick on people, but they will tighten up a wild *******. Enough with lawyers and influence. You play you should pay.
