Default Mister Pittsburgh's First & Final Draft Prediction

The antics of the Steelers players really made this a gloomy offseason for me so I didn't get into the mood to really dive into a mock this year. However, I still just wanted to throw my prediction (guess) out there. Feel free to add your prediction in here to see who gets the most picks right. I feel the Steelers will probably wheel & deal some on draft day so this is just a straight up attempt with the picks they have.

    C-FS-NT-DE-RB-WR-QB-CB-TE-WR-OT

    1st Round: C Maurkice Pouncey – Florida – 6’4½” 304lbs
    2nd Round: FS Morgan Burnett – Georgia Tech –6’1 3/8” 209lbs 4.42 40yds
    3rd Round: NT Linval Joseph – East Carolina – 6’4” 328lbs – 5.09 40yds
    4th Round: DE Alex Carrington – Arkansas State – 6’5 ¼” 285lbs 4.94 40yds
    5th Round: RB LaGarrette Blount – Oregon – 6’1” 241lbs – 4.76 40yds
    5th Round: WR Carlton Mitchell – South Florida – 6’4” 215lbs – 4.45 40yds
    5th Round: QB John Skelton – Fordham – 6’6” 243lbs – 4.85 40yds
    5th Round: CB Kevin Thomas – USC – 6’0” 192lbs – 4.48 40yds
    6th Round: TE Andrew Quarless – Penn State – 6’5” 254lbs – 4.69 40yds
    7th Round: WR Blair White – Michigan State – 6’2 ¾” 209lbs – 4.51 40yds
    7th Round: OT Ed Wang – USC – 6’4 ¾” 314lbs – 5.15 40yds

    UDFA’s To bring in:
    FB Cory Jackson – Maryland
    ILB Joe Pawelek – Baylor
RB Deji Karim – Southern Illinois

Lagarrette Blount you think will fall to the 5th round? If that is the case then absolutely I would grab that guy and see what we can do to help him with his anger problem.

Absolutely. Chances are it was an isolated incident. Kemo got booted from a game before for kicking an opponent in the head. He hasn't been a problem at all. I am sure some of the rounds are off on my mock, but they are tough to compile. Lots of times even though players are projected in certain rounds they can go much higher or much lower than originally projected.

Lots of names in there I hadn't heard before (but without any particular Collegiate allegeance I feel little compunction to watch College football. Maybe I should next season, just so I don't feel so out of my depth in the run-up to the draft).

I think Blount's chances of being drafted by us might have been damaged by the events of the last month. On the other hand, he was punished and seemed to act with some contrition afterwards.

I suppose it would come down to the one-to-one interviewing and the signals given in that situation.

Only 5 days to the first round, guys!

I'd go for LaGarrette . Love to have him on the Steelers roster, his warts and all. Mendy and Lagarrette sounds great!

Gotta say, I'd love to have Joe Haden and Best out of Cal....I know I am getting greedy though.

Having done this numerous times and knowing how difficult it is--especially this year with the Steeler needs--I could parse our selection, but--instead--will compliment you for your time and effort and make only two suggestions.

I'll take all of your picks but, S/CB Nate Allen in the Second, instead of Burnett and Pitt's Nate Byham instead of PSU's Quarless.

    Good work and thanks.

(In advance, thanks to anyone else who offers their suggested "Steelers 10 in 2010.")

From the 5th round on I kind of took flyers on some guys with questions around them. I knew I want to target a TE in that round but kind of went all homeristic and took Quarless. Good call on Byham though. Forgot about him. I like the Skelton pick in this. Personally I wouldn't have signed Charlie and would draft a 3rd QB to groom for the future.

I would be absolutely STUNNED if the Steelers took this guy.Considering all of the bad press that they've been getting recently,I don't think the Rooneys touch anyone with character issues.

Maybe now they can market themselves as 'the franchise with a heart to give misguided young men second chances'. After you **** up a 3rd time, you are traded for a 5th!
