If you are looking for something new to listen to, I highly recomend the following bands: Jet Black Stare, The Veer Union, Green Eyed Stare and Silver Gun. They are good new rock bands that are gonna hit within two years.

IMO they all sound like everything else I hear on the 'new rock' radio station. All these bands sound the same anymore. Another thing I've noticed when I went to listen to that Green Eyed Stare band. Why does everyone think they need to sing their vocals through a talk box now? It can be cool when it's done properly and used right but, it's getting way overused and is becoming cheesey now.

the vox box has practically killed hip hop and r&b music IMO. Every single ****ing artist of these genres are using the vox box. You know, it was cool when a band like Zapp used it back in the early 80's to be "different". when it's used as a "must" platform it gets old quick and irritating. After Cher had a comeback hit with "Believe" using the **** thing, Madonna followed suit and all of the suddenly it seems like either every producer or record exec. is forcing artists to apply this to songs. There's no way that all of these artists can think it's "cool" and not oversaturated

Yeah, it just seems like it's everywhere now. And even Rock bands are getting into the habit of using it a lot. I like it and it does sound cool on certain songs but, it seems to be getting way overused suddenly.

I think this guy here, Joseph Wooten uses it very well without overdoing it. I can't find much good video of him, nor was this the verison I was looking for but, this is a pretty nice cover of a Sly and the Family Stone song.
