    Default Garden access

Well, that was an ambiguous thread title, but here goes...

Everything around here is on a hill, including our garden. There are 7 steps from the back patio up to it. Needless to say, hauling the lawnmower up and down the buggers is annoying, so I've had a thought (always dangerous!).

I'm considering pulling out the decaying steps and trying to insert a grassed ramp insted (leaving the hand rail alongside, maybe telocated a little with the assistance of a bag of quickcrete).

Any recommendations forthe grass (type and application)?

I know this might sound like a total newb question but before I moved out here, I suffered with terrible hayfever from May to October, which was awful even when medicated, so all my garden experience is what I've done in two summers.

Took me 1.5 reads to remember that "garden" for the British equals "yard" for us Yanks

Did you end up taking out the steps and planting grass?
