Default Church in lineup over Milledge again today 6/13

Second straight game that Lastings sits in favor of Church. It makes zero sense that Ryan Church is getting any at bats right now. Unless NH is trying to raise his trade value, or tank to get Rendon, you have to put Lastings out there. I know he's a nightmare on the bases, but as someone pointed out here, maybe on another board, Church is actually statistically worse that Aki this season.

Also DY is DH'ing, Donut back behind the plate.

    Tabata LF
    Walker 2B
    Cutch CF
    Jones 1B
    Doumit C
    Church RF
    DY DH
    LaRoche 3B
    Cedeno SS

Milledge hasn't been good at all this year, but he's actually hit right handed pitching significantly better than Church. Church was getting too much playing time for a bad 4th OF, but he seems to have kept that spot even when Milledge was bumped down. Milledge went from starter to 5th OF.

Church over Milledge in RF is not on par with the egregious flaws in the past two lineups. Milledge's window is closing and he no longer looks to be part of a future starting lineup. Church was excellent defensively last night, especially that great running catch and then turning and throwing (via Cedeno) and nailing the runner at third.

IMO, this lineup at least makes sense.

    Church

    Overall - .186 | .227 OBP | .319 SLG | .545 OPS
    Vs. Lefties - .160 | .192 OBP | .280 SLG | .472SLG
    Vs. Righties - .193 | .237 OBP | .330 SLG | .567 OPS

    Milledge

    Overall - .225 | .329 OBP | .333 SLG | .662 OPS
    Vs. Lefties - .231 | .375 OBP | .308 SLG | .683 OPS
    Vs. Righties - .264 | .309 OBP | .343 SLG | .652 OPS

There's absolutely ZERO reason to play Ryan Church. Church stinks. He stinks overall, against lefties, against righties and his defense hovers at barely above average in UZR in LF (+0.5) and below average UZR in RF (-0.7). Milledge is a -1.4 in LF. Barely a difference especially consuidering the large gap in how much better Milledge hits than Church.

Church should be on the bench rotting. This isn't to say that I think Milledge is playing great. Guy has shown absolutely NO power. I mean, Nyjer Morgan showed more power than Milledge which is pitiful. But when it comes to choosing between Church and Milledge to play, Milledge should play every single time. I'm pretty sure Russell drinks bong water when he makes out hsi lineup cards

Milledge got 2 starts in a row and got on base in 5 of 7 plate appearances. Church has been on base in 3 of his last 36 plate appearances. Guess which one starts today.

I would rather have Brandon Moss than Church.

Wonder if Opie made this call or JR. I suspect its JR. Its decisions like this that are making me start to despise Russell.

Came on really quick to ***** about this as I turned on the tv to see Chuch playing.

Seriously, WTF? Besides Cutch, Milledge is the only other player hitting recently especially with runners on base and RISP
