Gonna miss Gonchar. A great player and a great individual. But we'll move on.

he is right about Ottawa. They will be a good team. They were missing 3 or 4 key guys when we played them. Kovalev, Michalek, Alfie, Spezza, Fisher, gonch, phillips and a couple of really good young players in regin and karlsson. If they can get decent goaltending they will make some noise.

Glad that Gonch is happy going to Ottawa and that he enjoyed his time in Pittsburgh.

x2. You're right the Sens are loaded. But, I hope Gonch saved a few of those matador defensive moves for the Pens!

Koval;ev and Alfie are getting much older and more injury prone. for Ottawa to go far they will need that luck in having all of their impact players playing healthy and near the top of their games. I think the chances of that are very tough. There's a possibility of course. don't forget that they lost Volchenkov which could really affect Phillips' play since those guys had a great chemistry together. They lost a real solid defender for a guy whose defense and play declined a lot last season - Gonchar.

Very classy piece by Gonchar though in that article. Always good to read positive comments like that
