    Default Pirates-Phillies

Great atmosphere at the ballpark for the series. Too bad the Phils only come to town once a year....

Also, lucky the Bucs played them when Chase Uttley is out.

Still, a nice showcase for the young players.

Last year's series at PNC was a pretty good one as well. Crowds weren't nearly as big, but it was a similar divide. The Pirates took 2 of 3 and probably should have won the other one as well (Steve Jackson lost in extra innings). For some reason the team just seemed to wake up for the series both times.

Anyone wish we were in the NL East...we seem to historically like playing those teams better.

The thing is there's really no reason why they couldn't be. No one else would need to move or anything. Just make that the 6 team division and cut the Central down to 5. I know very few people who really care one way or the other about the Cardinals or the Astros, but a ton who hate the Mets, the Phillies, the Braves, etc.

I do think it should be much easier to compete in the NL Central, though. Every team has some major flaws.

I agree it SHOULD be easier in the NL Central...but in my opinion we should be in the NL East.
