In my opinion, Bradshaw is just overrated. Really overrated. Sure, he won some Super Bowls but remember he had a Hall-of-Fame running back, two Hall-of-Fame receivers, and a Hall-of-Fame defense.

And with those Hall-of-Fame receivers, all Bradshaw could do was produce a 70.9 quarterback rating. I have never seen a quarterback do that bad with so many targets. What did Joe Namath have? He just had two helpful guys on offense in Matt Snell and Don Maynard. Bradshaw had everything a quarterback would dream for.

And yet, he did terrible. Here are is career statistics: 51.9 completion percentage, 27,989 yards, 212 touchdowns and 210 interceptions, and a 70.9 quarterback rating. He is lucky he barely got over the hump over more touchdowns than interceptions ratio.

Now tell me this, are these stats Hall-of-Fame worthy when you have a Hall-of-Fame running back, two HOF receivers, and a HOF defense?

Year Team G Att Com Pct Yards TD Int Rate
    1970 Pittsburgh Steelers 13 218 83 38.1 1410 6 24 30.4

    1980 Pittsburgh Steelers 15 424 218 51.4 3339 24 22 75.0
    1981 Pittsburgh Steelers 14 370 201 54.3 2887 22 14 83.9
    1982 Pittsburgh Steelers 9 240 127 52.9 1768 17 11 81.4
    1983 Pittsburgh Steelers 1 8 5 62.5 77 2 0 133.9
    Career Totals 168 3901 2025 51.9 27989 212 210 70.9

Answer that for me. If you can say he deserves to be in the Hall-of-Fame, then by God, put Boomer, Cunningham, and Stabler in there already!

This steaming pile of ****e also appeared on Bleacher Report http://bleacherreport.com/articles/4...e-to-be-in-hof

He's a 13 year old who I suspect of trying to apply limited statistics alone as a mode of assessment. That might stand up to a greater degree if the sport considered is baseball, but in this case... no. Dodgy argument, poorly supported.

Agree with wy. And I am not really old enough to really know but aren't those decent stats for a qb of the 70's? You can't really compare between then and today's qb's IMO.

Nice to see there is a blog for kindergarten drop outs who are journalistically challenged. That rambling, incoherent, babble was as weak as a Vern Troyer slam dunk attempt.

    Move on.

It's all jealousy. I bet you Bradshaw and the city of Pittsburgh are going to feel guilty now that this person has unlocked the truth.

Little dickweed has yet to realize until 1978 passing was "wing it down field and hope it hits for a big play".

Rules favored the Defenses: 60% comp percentages and Higher TD to INT ratio's didn't become common place with the west coast offense system became entrenched in the 1980's.

32 rushing TDs (7 of which came in the defence-heavy 1972 season) seem to not be a factor either. Doesn't every QB rush for 2257 total yards?

I forgot how they opened up the passing game for the modern era of football. Terry and others had to throw a ball to a receiver that was being held, punched, hung upon each and every play.

Just remember they changed the rules because of Mel Blount.

SHHHH its a secret...I'd much rather just add a quip to a post. I have worked hard since 2005 on these message boards to add as little as possible.

Set the bar low and when you put forth any effort at all it seems really impressive.

Now that I think about it, it has also been my practicing theory on sexual relations with the various girlfriends over the years.

They now changed the rules for the defensive secondary players because of Hines.
