ESPN.com has finished publishing a top 25 list of the Big Eastís best football players. Pitt had the most representation with a total of six players, including three in the top four, and the #1 overall player Ė Dion Lewis.

What more can be said about Lewis, the Big Eastís reigning Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year? He finished third nationally in rushing in 2009, and only Stanfordís Toby Gerhart had more rushing attempts than Lewisís 325. Pittís star didnít just pile up yards in garbage time, either; he was at his best in big games, like his 47-carry, 194-yard showing against Cincinnati, or his 167-yard output against North Carolinaís talented defense in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Itís hardly a surprise that Lewis tops the list, but there are plenty of others who could leapfrog him if he struggles this season, including the #2 player, WVUís Noel Devine, or Lewis' teammate, wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin. Still, itís not a crown Lewis will relinquish easily and heíll be out to prove his 1,799/18 TD season was no fluke.
