Default Lineup I'd like to see today...

With Cutch back in play today, here's the lineup I'd liketa see:

    Cutch
    NFW
    GFJ
    Pedro
    Edge
    Kratz
    Cedeno
    Lincoln
    Tabata

(Kratz & Ronny are interchangeable, really)

Ok, but would take away at bats from Tabata.

One, perhaps. But remember, Lincoln izza good hitter, and having Tabata up before Cutch should mean more RBI opportunities...

Will Lincoln even see more than one AB? Lincoln is a decent hitter, but not good enough that I would juggle the entire lineup for. By the time the fourth inning rolls around you could have Sean Gallagher hitting outta the eight hole (lets hope not).

My ideal lineup for today would be:

    --Bonds, CF
    --Madlock, 3B
    --Clemente, RF
    --Stargell, 1B
    --Parker, LF
    --Ed Ott, C
    --Dick Groat. SS
    --Maz, 2B

With Al Oliver, Bill Robinson, Bob Robertson, Smoky Burgess, Brian Giles, and
Tim Foli coming off the bench!! (Feel free to substitute Andy Van Slyke, Aramis Ramirez, Jason Bay, or Bobby Bonilla for my subs.)

That might be literally the worst lineup ever to take a field. Half of those guys are dead and most of the others have been retired for years. I imagine it wouldn't be pretty.

Dunno if I'd trust Bonds with CF.

It's been proven that the 8th & 9th spots are virtually interchangeable (can't be arsed to look it up now). So if you have a pinch hitter in the 8th or 9th spot makes NO difference.

The "living guys"--even if infirm--would get mroe clutch hits than our current squad and the dead guysprobably out hit our current bench.

Let me have my Pittsburgh baseball fantasies, please!

    Thank you!

"And, a last minute replacement, Manny Sanguillen, replacing an angry but understanding Ed Ott."
