Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons writes in his blog that he has been working out twice a day and as a result is in serious shape. I did a lot of great things in the off-season. It hasnt all been fun, though. Ive been working out hard. Im up to 248 pounds right now, no fat. Ive got my abs back writes Timmons. Now its time to get ready for training camp on Friday. Ive been working out like a dog so camp will be easy for me and Im in some serious shape. Ive been working out hard, doing two-a-days, working out then running or lifting. My trainers have me on some supplements now and Im improving my wind, speed and strength so everything is going well.

I have no doubt he's in shape. Always has been but he needs to start make more of an impact on the field.

Not saying he's a bust but I expect more from the #15 overall pick.

Agreed and he can show flashes of brilliance and explosiveness and then disappear for long periods of time.

ESPN had him listed as a top 5 breakout player last year, so hopefully this year will be the year. If not, then ....... well lets just hope its his year.

Timmons will be fine. He was sort of a slow starter and there's nothing wrong with that. He's continuing to show he's working toward being a solid starter and possibly a stud and this article is encouraging to the extent that he's taking his job seriously.

He has all the ability in the world and the want to to go along with it. The want to is gonna be the big difference with him this year. Drafted as an OLB, this will be his second year as an ILB. Watch him flourish.

I cringe when I see stuff like that. Not suggesting anything illegal, but how does Timmons know?

I don't think desire is worth questioning. The guy did and does have the physical ability to be a great athlete. What seperate4s the athlete/physical ability from being good and great is the ability for the brain to use that ability. Is Timmons not just strong physically but a good enough "player"? He's got the speed to drop into coverage and keep up with guys, but to cover with accuracy and not get deked involves the brain.

Was never wild about the Timmons pick but I do like the guy and feel that he's got all of the tools. whether they all come together in that single football package is to be determined but he also came to this team extremely raw and young. I think the kid will make more of an impact this season. He'll need to wit Farrior slipping

I am hoping that Timmons is right about Timmons!

When they start prattling about their fine physical shape is when they suddenly require "Tommy John" surgery or the NFL equivalent.

Also, until I hear Jay Caufield say it about Timmons, I won't believe that he's in the best shape of his life!!
