    Default Game day thoughts

    Quick version:

    a) Troy DOES make that difference

    b) Mendy's fumbles are no longer isolated incidents, they're a trend

    c) 4th quarters are still scary and our sphincters pucker up with a lot of prevent D and conservative playcalling during that time of strife

    e) Nice to see the D in the endzone - twice even

    f) Reed should have taken that contract extension when he had the chance

    g) Ike Taylor has to be unhappy with today's game, as should Gay

    h) I don't understand why we didn't go deep on the queens, I just don't get it

    That is all

i disagree with C and in place i suggest our 4th quarter was better today than any other 4th quarter so far.

Not really. Something is wrong with this defense. Favre throw for over 300 yards on us. Teams have been throwing for a ton of yards on us all year with or without Troy on the field.

    b) Mendy's fumbles are no longer isolated incidents, they're a trend.

...and a trend that can't continue. The 2008 draft gave us a guy that can hold onto the ball and one that can't catch them

    c) 4th quarters are still scary and our sphincters pucker up with a lot of prevent D and conservative playcalling during that time of strife.

It's like they want to give other teams a fair chance

    e) Nice to see the D in the endzone - twice even

That's the stuff we needed in loses to the Bears and Bungholes this year

    f) Reed should have taken that contract extension when he had the chance

After seeing Reed's **** poor attempt at a tackle or whatever that was, I'd hate to see how he'd have faired putting his "dukes up" against a cop in a fight. Probably be the quickest beat down of his life

    g) Ike Taylor has to be unhappy with today's game, as should Gay

They were had by WR's that aren't even Top 10 in the league. Not the first time this year either. The garbage wide outs of the Bears and titans were giving them problems as well

    h) I don't understand why we didn't go deep on the queens, I just don't get it

Me either. That was a terrible game plan offensively for attacking the Vikings. The worst game plan this season offensively. Hope it improves because after the bye week we're playing a better defense in Denver and on Denver's turf. Could be an ugly game for us

    That is all
time for the bye week to heal and fix the big issues on defense and special teams

only because we forced turnovers. had we not forced those turnovers, it would've been the same 4th quarters as we've seen all year long. Favre racked up more yards in the 4th quarter than he had all game long. Peterson racked up mroe yards on the ground in the 4th quarter than he had all game long. the vikes were driving the field with complete ease. We were fortunate to get those turnovers, cause it would've been like the other games had we not

I don't disagree with your observation on the D, Kip - but Troy's presence is clearly making a difference.

I agree with your points Kip...I honestly think that there is something very, VERY wrong with this team...especially the D...I hope they can fix it.

The defense held the vikes to 10 points.

Stuffed them on the goal line 5 plays in a row.

Scored two touchdowns, long mother ****ing touchdowns at that, off of turnovers.

There is something wrong with this defense???

Pressured, hurried, and sacked farve all day....

Held peterson to under 70 yds

Yeah, apparently Tomlin needs to keep his hands off of the defense.

I agree with most of what was said. I will add my 2 cents on this.

There is something wrong with our D as the game gets long in the tooth, because a large portion of our D line is getting long in the tooth.

From my point of view there is something wrong with our offense. We rack up the numbers, but can't score in accordance with the stats. Stats don't win games points do.

    Yep. I agree.

Im a bit surprised at the negative talk about the D. They were playing against an undefeated team with one of the best offenses coming into this week. Yet, they did all that you said above.
    They were just fine today.

The offense sucked. Special teams sucked. Arians play-calling sucked.

Basically, this was a win just like one from last season.

    He does!

That cover 2 prevent doesn't work in a 3-4 or the new and improved scoring NFL, but there wasn't really a lot of that today and the blitzing is up...

I think that maybe he realizes this and has let his #1 be himself.

    Troy isn't himself yet.

    I am concerned about that...

On both drives before the turnovers, the Vikes were moving the ball easily. Granted the defense scored, but they were moving it rather easily. This was a big, but ugly win that leaves at 5-2. It also leaves us with two weeks to straighten our **** out. The fumbling, the loose coverage and Arians inferior playcalling all have to be addressed. This is gonna be a long 2 weeks.

Yes the D outscored the O today, but I'm horse from yelling at the TV and the D-backs to ****ING COVER A RECEIVER. This **** about playing 10 yards off the line and watching Favre throw underneath all day long and never making an adjustment is simply driving me crazy. Hell Favre can't throw the ball well enough anymore to be a threat 15-20 yards downfield.

They had better have Mendy do the carry the football 24/7 thing in the next 2 weeks to teach him how to protect the ball. A fumble on the 3 yard line because of the way he carried the ball is inexcusable.

What happened to Hines today? Reading too many press reports?

I'd like to see Ben JUST ONCE throw a ball away.

Hope Timmons isn't hurt bad, but Fox played pretty well, although he looked bad on Peterson's 20 yard romp around end.

I thought Heath got hosed on the pass interference call. Not only was it away from the play, but contact was inside the 5-yard area. I'd like to see it replayed again, but it was more of a route interference play and the back got in the way and got steam rolled. Maybe it was a pick. Don't know.

    Willie who?

How many 3rd and 2 plays do we have to run with a naked backfield? JHC!!!!

Wallace is going to be a beast. Why not send him on a fly once in a while? No one can stay with him.

Good Lord. What am I going to do next weekend?
