Pretty solid. Always nice to see and hear new stuff on the Arena

Those upper level seats look ridiculously steep

Hey now, I'm always one of those drunks. I can't afford to get drunk in the lower level seats

This place is gonna be sick and I can't wait to see it. I'm going to the Roger Waters show Sep. 26th. I'll probably spend most of the show just walking around and checking **** out

Anyone know what that "Brewpub" is gonna be? Is it going to be a real Brewpub with a brewery in there? I believe it's in the upper level.

Yeah, I can't seem to find anything concerte about what it is going to be, but it sounds like its huge!

I was chatting with the master brewer at the Rivertowne Pourhouse a few months ago and he said they might be carrying their other line of beers at the Consol. "Full Pint Brewing" which he just started a few months ago at a warehouse on Rt.30. Maybe it won't be a brewery in there but a bunch of local stuff. Full Pint, East End, Church Brew, Penn Brewery etc.? I dunno.

That's what I'm thinking too. I'd be surprised if it were an actual brewery but more of a specilaty beer pub type place where you get a lot of local and off the wall offerings... Which would be cool. Would rather spend an extra cojuple bucks on a real beer than the crap the pedal at the regular concession stands

    Hey boys....

The Brewhouse is located on the upper concourse facing downtown and stretches about 200 feet or so.... There is a small ledge for you to place your beer and look out to the skyline. as well as lots of tables and TV's... Chris Devivo told me that they're thinking about having a few different games on those TV's in addition to the Pens game...

Honestly, I didn't look at the taps in terms of what kind of variety they'll have....

The upper bowl seating really isn't as bad as it may seem, but after a few brews, all bets are off....

Thanks! It does indeed seem to be prettr big from the photos and the videos but it was tough to make out the TV's and such.

Any idea on what makes the brewhouse... the brewhouse? A lot of specialty/local beers or is beer actually brewed there?

Wanted to see if I could get this entire post copied and pasted EXACTLY

Local Media Samples CONSOL Energy Center Food
    Thursday, 08.12.2010 / 10:49 AM / Features
The local media was on hand at CONSOL Energy Center Thursday afternoon to participate in a taste testing of the upgraded concessions menu at the Penguins’ new arena. Among the samples they tasted were Kielbasa Grinders, Sirloin French Dip Sandwiches, Smoked BBQ Chicken Sandwiches and Mediterranean Chicken Wraps.

Those options are a small sampling of the 75 combined menu items fans will find when they visit CONSOL Energy Center in the coming weeks. Below are some of the features from the concessions menu for the upcoming season.

Smokehouse: Sandwiches and topped nachos featuring beef brisket, chicken and pulled pork – all cooked on premise, using the in-house smoker
Smokehouse Grill: Sirloin French dip, kielbasa grinder, grilled chicken sandwich, Angus cheeseburger, French fries and onion rings

Primanti Bros: Specialty sandwiches, including the Pittsburgher, roast beef and capicolla and cheese
Stack: Kickin’ chicken sandwich, sirloin French dip, meatball grinder, Caesar salad and Mediterranean chicken wrap

Classics: Fan favorites, including the smoked sausage sandwich, monster chicken nachos, jumbo pretzels and hot dogs
Blaze: Pizza Hut pizza, Wingstreet chicken wings

In addition to the concessions on the lower and upper concourse, Lexus Club diners and guests of the First Niagara Club and Captain Morgan Club will enjoy an extended menu.

    Lexus Club:

    • 250-seat, fine dining restaurant
    • Menu changes daily
    • Sample menu: Braised Bison Sirloin, Spicy Shrimp and Lobster Cakes and Pistachio Crusted Pork Tenderloin

First Niagara Club and Captain Morgan Club:
    • 1,950 combined seats
    • 30 menu items, including Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, Beef Satay with Lo Mein, Cuban Pork Sandwich, Kielbasa Grinder, Angus Beef Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Ciabatta, Roasted Sirloin French Dip Sandwich and Cheesesteak Dippers

Looks like a far better variety of food being offered up at the Consol compared to Mellon Arena which is a welcomed improvement. Getting food/concessions at Mellon Arena sucked once the Pirates and Steelers moved into new stadiums and you were treated to a better variety and what seemed like better versions of the same food. Like a Pretzel at PNC Park seems better than the ones at Mellon Arena the past decade even if it were the same concession company making them

Saw this today from a poster on thepensblog:

    The menu shows:
    Bud Light (Can)
    Budweiser (Bottle)
Coors Light (Draft, Bottle and Can)
    Corona (bottle)
    Czechvar (Bottle)
    Heineken (Bottle)
    Hoegaarden (Bottle)
    I.C. Light (Bottle and Can)
labatt Blue (Draft, Bottle, and Can)
Labatt Blue Light (Draft, bottle, Can)
    Landshark (bottle)
    Michelob Ultra (Bottle)
    Miller Lite (Draft Bottle Can)
    O'Douls (Bottle)
Redbridge (gluten free) in a bottle
    Rolling Rock (Can)
    Stella Artois (Bottle)
    Shock Top (Bottle)
    Yuengling (Draft, Bottle, Can)
And here's a pic of some of the taps at "The Brewhouse"

If that's it, I'm not impress. Even at PNC they have Dogfish Head and some other good choices.

Also, here's a pic they just posted to facebook of the stage all ready for tonight.
