Furthermore, it had NOTHING to do with the play...I know that that doesn't mean it should/shouldn't be called, but it just annoys me when that kinda stuff happens [HIGH-LIGHT]when its not even involved[/HIGH-LIGHT]...and like you said they were headed right for each other--and I still think/thought he was pushed into him.
Didn't Miller pick off the defender that was covering for the TD? I had no problem with the call...it was justified IMO....my problem is they don't always call it consistently. You see it all the time.

Holmes caught the ball near the left pylon...Miller was called...I believe...near the right hash mark.

I may be mistaken but I think he picked of the defender covering Holmes though.

You may be right and I may be mistaken...I thought it was on the other side of the field.

They criss-crossed and Heath kinda got blocked into the defender, but they will call that everytime in the endzone it seems.

Who gives a **** if it was a good call or not. The refs didn't make them fumble, the refs didn't make them throw a pick...when Heath was called for a pick we didn't bend over to take it in the ***, we carried on.

Just saw the replay on Gameday final on NFLN. Neon Deon (I think) says it was a good call. FWIW.

People...I know we all have Steeler biases...but this thing isn't anything CLOSE to a trip. He hits him with his shoulder. Its a terrible call...it equaled out...but lets not just write it off b/c it WAS NOT a trip.

Look at around the 2 minute mark:

Thanks for the link Ben, but I don't know how you could call that anything but a tripping penalty. He totally whiffed on the block and when James juked him, he threw his legs out to try and stop him. By definition, that's a trip.

Of course the Vikings fans are saying otherwise. You're not a closet Vikings fan, are you?

The pick was questionable at best. The refereeing going on this year sucks overall. This has to be looked at by the league BEFORE the end of the season. They also need to re-think the continuation rule for plays in the endzone, it just plain sucks.

One more thing I'd like to add: We can argue all we want about whether both calls were good calls or not. We can watch replays, and formulate opinions. We can analyze the play, and try to interpret the player's intent based on body language, and interpret the rules themselves. Some of us will make interesting arguments that will make another reconsider his initial thought. The refs, on the other hand, do not have that same luxury. They are seeing the play in real time from one angle and have to make a judgment on the spot based on THEIR interpretations on the rules.

This is true...they dont have replay as their guide either...in terms of penalties.

    1. I had no problem with either call that nullified the TD's.
    2. You see OL players get flagged all the time for tripping/leg whipping.
    3. You see pick plays all the time, but rarely do they draw a flag.
